NYT: Democrats’ ActBlue May Have Misled Congress on Donor Vetting Process:

The Democrat fundraising machine, ActBlue, was reportedly warned by a law firm working for the platform in early 2025 that it possibly misled congressional leaders regarding its vetting of foreign donations, according to the New York Times.

...the Times article noted “One memo raised the specter of a criminal investigation if prosecutors believed that ActBlue had tried to conceal facts about its efforts to prevent foreign contributions.”

...Rep. James Comer (R-KY) alleged that former President Joe Biden’s (D) administration covered up “hundreds” of suspicious activity reports for ActBlue.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said, “There are legitimate, grave concerns that ActBlue has enabled illegal fundraising. By failing to prevent widespread straw-donor schemes and other tactics, it is likely that fraudulent and even foreign-sourced contributions have crept into Democrat campaign coffers.”

Under Gavin Newsom, California is First in Homelessness, Poverty, Illegal Immigration, and Other Negative Indicators:

It has been exactly seven years, two months, and 26 days since Gavin Newsom became governor of California. California is now #1 in homelessness, poverty, illegal immigrant population, benefits for illegal immigrants, budget deficit, income tax, gas tax, gas prices, and people leaving the state, and ranks near the top among states in housing costs, retail crime, adult illiteracy, and anti-business regulation.

#1 in Homelessness

This is one of the most thoroughly documented rankings. Of the nation’s 771,500 people experiencing homelessness in 2024, over 187,000, roughly 24%, were in California, with two in three unsheltered, accounting for nearly half the country’s unsheltered population.

#1 in Poverty

California’s poverty rate, at 17.7%, continued to be the highest in the United States in 2024, tied with Louisiana, with no tangible improvement from 2023. About 7 million state residents lacked the resources to meet basic needs.

#1 in Illegal Immigrant Population / #1 in Benefits for Illegal Immigrants

California leads the nation with approximately 2.3 million illegal aliens, and has built the most expansive benefits system for them of any state in the country, offering driver’s licenses, college scholarships, low-income tax credits, pandemic cash payments, and full Medi-Cal health coverage.

#1 in Budget Deficit

California’s fiscal deterioration under Newsom has been severe. In January 2024, Newsom’s office projected a $38 billion deficit for fiscal year 2024–25, while the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office projected $68 billion, revised to $73 billion, making it the largest state budget deficit in the country.

#1 in Income Tax

Top marginal rates span from 2.5% in Arizona and North Dakota to 13.3% in California, which also imposes a 1.1% payroll tax on wage income, bringing the all-in top rate to 14.4%.

#1 in Gas Prices

California retains its top spot as the state with the most expensive gas in the nation, with a gallon of gas costing $5.89 as of early April 2026, beating out Hawaii at $5.46. California levies the highest total state gas tax in the nation at 70.9 cents per gallon...

#1 in People Leaving State

California was the hardest-hit state for domestic outmigration, with roughly 254,000 more people leaving than moving in, according to 2024 Census American Community Survey data. IRS data also shows California has the highest net loss of taxpayers in the country, with one leaving every 1 minute, 44 seconds.

#2 in Housing Costs

Accurate, depending on metric. By median home price, Hawaii has the highest average house price in the United States at $840,256, with California close behind at $784,840. California has the highest average rent in the nation.

Honorable mention: Retail Crime

California does not lead all 50 states in every retail crime metric, but it is the dominant locus of organized retail crime nationally.  Reported shoplifting in California in 2023 was 28% higher than in 2019...

Honorable Mention: Adult Illiteracy

California scores poorly on adult literacy but the “number one” designation depends heavily on methodology. The state consistently ranks near the bottom on the National Assessment of Adult Literacy and on K–12 reading proficiency scores.

Honorable Mention: Failing Schools

...California fourth-graders rank in the bottom ten states in both reading and math. Eighth-grade scores follow a similar pattern.

Honorable Mention: Anti-Business Regulations / Worker Restrictions

The Tax Foundation and CATO Institute consistently rank California near the bottom for business climate.

European Weaklings Just Handed Trump the Perfect Excuse to Blow Up NATO – And They’ve Only Got Themselves to Blame!

The latest Iran fiasco has ripped the mask off Europe’s so-called “allies.” France, Germany, and the UK just refused to back America in a real crisis, treating NATO like some kind of optional social club instead of the mutual defense pact it’s supposed to be.

French President Macron, UK’s Keir Starmer, and Germany’s Friedrich Merz openly declared the crisis “Not Our War!” They blocked logistics support, refused to let NATO become Washington’s “auxiliary force,” and basically told the American taxpayer: “Thanks for five decades of protecting us, but we’re good.”

This wasn’t some minor diplomatic tiff. This was Europe handing Trump the exact rhetorical hammer he’s been waiting for.

Trump has never been shy about calling NATO what it really is under the current setup: a one-way street. America pays the lion’s share, provides the intelligence, the strategic airlift, the aerial refueling, the missile defense, the C4ISR backbone — basically everything that actually matters in a real fight.

Europe? They finally hit the 2% defense spending target in 2025 after years of freeloading… and they’re still completely dependent on Uncle Sam for the critical stuff they can’t build themselves.

...he’s [Trump has] long viewed NATO as a transactional nightmare — expensive guarantees with no real reciprocity. They gave Trump the perfect soundbite for the American people: “Why are we still subsidizing these people if they won’t stand with us?

“WE GOT HIM!” President Trump Releases Statement on Rescue of Fighter Pilot:

President Trump late Saturday night into early Sunday morning released a statement on the rescue of the fighter pilot who went missing earlier this week after Iran shot down an F-15E fighter jet.

The fighter jet went down in a remote part of Iran on Friday. One pilot was rescued and the other pilot, the ‘gunner,’ went missing.

The missing fighter pilot was rescued early Sunday morning local time.

President Trump celebrated the rescue in a Truth Social post.

The pilot sustained injuries but the president said he will be “just fine.”

Full statement from President Trump:

WE GOT HIM! My fellow Americans, over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History, for one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and who I am thrilled to let you know is now SAFE and SOUND!

This brave Warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour, but was never truly alone because his Commander in Chief, Secretary of War, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and fellow Warfighters were monitoring his location 24 hours a day, and diligently planning for his rescue.

At my direction, the U.S. Military sent dozens of aircraft, armed with the most lethal weapons in the World, to retrieve him. He sustained injuries, but he will be just fine.

Trump Warns Iran — ‘Open the ****** Strait’ or Face Bombing on Tuesday:

Blunt, unambiguous and straight to the point. That was President Donald Trump on Sunday morning as he warned Iran of the perils that lie ahead if it fails to open the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.

He made his declaration in an expletive-laden post on his Truth Social account warning bombing of vital infrastructure is sure to follow.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran..."

Trump’s 10-day deadline to Iran is expected to expire late on Monday.
