A Palm Beach, Florida, elections volunteer was arrested for stealing computer equipment encrypted access key ahead of a special election where a Democrat won by 800 votes.

John Panicci was arrested on Friday for taking sensitive computer equipment and other supplies on March 19 ahead of the March 24 special election.

As previously reported, a Democrat flipped a Florida state house district that includes President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

Detectives said that during the training session, Panicci stole an encrypted access key from a voter registration terminal.

The key that Panacci allegedly took was programmed only for the training databases, but there were concerns that if someone else could reverse engineer the encryption, they could then use it on a voter registration kiosk for malicious purposes.

Italy refused a flight of American bombers on their way to the Middle East clearance to land at the strategic “hub of the Med” air base, reportedly because Washington had not strictly honoured the terms of its governing treaty on launching strikes from Italian soil, it is claimed.

A flight of “several” American bombers were refused permission to land at Sigonella air force base on Sicily, southern Italy, in the central Mediterranean at an unspecified time in recent days, a report in Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera states. Per the report, the aircraft were already in-flight and on their way to the strategic air base when the permission was denied.

Sigonella was built by the United States in the 1950s on land temporarily leased to America by the Italian government. ...The use of the base is governed by a treaty between Rome and Washington: routine armed forces flights and work are permitted including operational and logistical, but warfighting activity requires the express permission of the Italian government.

...the situation appears to be considerably friendlier than that with Italy’s Mediterranean neighbour socialist Spain, which has closed its airspace to U.S. military aircraft altogether.

President Trump will reportedly sign an executive order cracking down on mail-in ballots, according to The Daily Caller.

Trump is expected to sign the order on Tuesday afternoon.

“States who disobey the order may lose federal funds under the presidential action,” The Daily Caller said.

The mail-in ballots will have secure envelopes with barcodes.

The Daily Caller reported:

The executive order will require the Secretary of Homeland Security to create a list of verified U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote in each state with the Social Security Administration’s help, according to a fact sheet shared with the Caller.

The presidential action will also require that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) only send absentee ballots to those on each state’s approved mail-in ballot list. Ballots will now have specific secure envelopes, with unique barcodes for tracking, the order mandates.
