PERSEVERANCE

Our marriages are quite a trial,

Our mortgages are way past due,

Our boss is on our case,

Just what is it we should do?

We’ve been beat upon the head,

And knocked down without remorse,

This world is so hardhearted,

What are our options for recourse?

Our families think we’re crazy,

Our friends just stay away,

Numerous obstacles impede our paths,

As we follow the STRAIGHT AND NARROW WAY!

The world can scoff, the world can scorn,

It can laugh and disparage at will,

It can slander our names and push us down,

And send us the final bill.

It would be easy to fold the tents,

To recoil from this endless fight,

To quit just before the Finish,

To the enemy’s delight.

But this isn’t the time to refrain,

And acquiesce to the menacing dark,

We are to withstand the pelting rain,

Until our ship can disembark.

Life is hard, but we must endure,

Eternity is almost here,

The attacks won’t end until the End,

So endeavor to persevere.

Don’t give up and don’t give in,

The Lord is almost here,

Hold on tight and don’t give ground,

Again, and again, PERSEVERE!

The Good Lord did not put us on this earth to be "successful" -- He put us here to be faithful!!

Don't wither again the constant gale-force winds of mortal cruelty, indifference, and greed.

Humbly

Faithful, not successful!  Hit the nail on the head brother.   Except to be successful in Faith!

Speaking about persevere ...

Since this virus outbreak ... just wondering .... how many of you are having trouble witnessing to strangers on the streets because of their fear you might be a carrier of  “the germ” so they are standoffish nor will they take a Bible tract?

Could this be a sign the churches job assignment is about over? :unsure:

This old hymn comes to my mind ...

Work, for the night is coming,
Work through the morning hours;
Work while the dew is sparkling,
Work ’mid springing flowers;
Work when the day grows brighter,
Work in the glowing sun;
Work, for the night is coming,
When man’s work is done.

Work, for the night is coming,
Work through the sunny noon;
Fill brightest hours with labor,
Rest comes sure and soon.
Give every flying minute,
Something to keep in store;
Work, for the night is coming,
When man works no more.

Geri, I m not out among John Q Public but I have taken liberty to dribble on my students at the college I teach at online and with my colleagues at the hospital and corporate calls, course it’s currently acceptable as it’s a Catholic healthcare system. :prayer-hands:

“John Q Public” :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:   I never heard that term before!   Love it. :good:

Oh so glad you are still getting opportunities to dribble the Gospel message to online Catholic students and emails/phone calls with your colleagues.   You got the baton now to finish up the last lap of the race.  I think my witnessing days are over and standing on the sidelines cheering you on!  :whistle:

Thank both for your encouragement and continued witness you have as well. I do need to clarify Geri, the students are not in a Catholic college, I teach at a secular institution online only for adult learners, RN to BSN students, so I do have to be careful HOW I dribble the gospel.
My number one FT job is as part of the administrative team for an acute care facility of 360 plus beds with two ED’s (owned by Catholics) - as a matter of fact when we decided to merge with another like system, the corporate leaders had to go to Rome and get permission from the pope. Amazing how connected Rome is with healthcare. I just keep praying diligently that our time here is shorter than before, I sense in my spirit we are so close! :prayer-hands:

We all seem to be in agreement about having that same sense.  Perhaps this is the "high sign" that has been given unto us!

In times past it just seemed to be more like wishful thinking on our parts.  As if trying to talk God into the Rapture.

Time will tell, and time is again on our side.
