Yes, people who have the gift of discerning of spirits are needed as spiritual smoke alarms. Too many houses are burning down because some in the leadership think that the gifts are not for today. My first spiritual dream involved an encounter with two beautiful women dressed in full-length white gowns. As gorgeous as they were on the outside, I knew they were pure evil. After awakening from the dream and calling a friend more knowledgeable than I was, she exclaimed, "Jezebel!!" I really had no idea what she meant except that the name referred to evil Queen Jezebel and King Ahab. She explained what was going on but didn't know who that second spirit was. John Paul Jackson answered that questi0n a few years later in his book, "Ummasking the Jezebel Spirit." He said Jezebelic spirits often team up with a lesser spirit that was currently ruling the area. My suspicion was that it was a religious spirit. After the whole experience, I was still bothered by the fact that they were in white gowns.
