On the Edge of Eternity Life is but a vapor, Scattered ashes against the wind, Our Hope that lies ahead, The devil is attempting to rescind. If mortal existence was all there was, We’d sure be a miserable lot, They might as well march us to the grave, And intern us in our plot. There must be something more, To keep us on our course, To persevere through much travail, By choice and not by force. Yes, this is not the end, Light is filtering through the haze, Those of us who watch and wait, Aspire to better days. We pray for our release, From the shackles of constraint, To experience hues unobstructed, That this world could never paint. We can sense our final destiny, Outside the clouds above, Eternity casts its shadow, Are you ready for a shower of Love? Hang on, hang in, Hang loose, hang tight, The Groom awaits His Bride, Just beyond the edge of the night. God bless you friends! Humbly Beautifully written, thanks for sharing your heart! TR Beautiful! And yes, “life really is a vapor” ... even though many times our trials seem like they are not going to end ... our lives here are very short. When someone famous dies I will read the comment section and you always see their fans say “where did the years go” “it just seemed like yesterday they were on a tv show or playing in a concert” “those were simple times back then and they wish to go back”. The unsaved are noticing how evil this world has gotten. As a believer ... its great to know our future in heaven is going to be eternally fantastic! As transient as our existence is here in this realm, it seems that the wisdom to look ahead is from above. When I questioned my love of the Rapture and forever being in His presence, the Lord calmed my fears and dissuaded my doubts by saying to me: Let no man steal that treasure I have hid in thine heart! TR Thank you Humbly! I really appreciate the phrase “ on the edge of eternity” that speaks volumes for what most of us feel, with eternity so awesomely close. TR - never let anyone snatch that assurance and peace from you, you are spot on. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” This is where watching and praying believers live. :prayer-hands:
