GDP Goes Negative: Economy Shrinks -1.4% as 2022 Begins:

The U.S. economy unexpectedly contracted in the first three months of 2022 as the economy was battered by a surge in Covid-19 cases from the Omicron variant, ongoing supply chain problems, surging fuel prices, and a flood of imports.

The Burea of Economic Analysis said on Thursday that Gross Domestic Product decreased at an annual rate of 1.4 percent in the first quarter of 2022. Economists had expected the economy to grow 1.1 percent.

Private inventory investment, exports, and government spending fell in the first quarter. Imports, which are a subtraction from GDP, surged.

Personal consumption expenditures and real estate spending increased, suggesting that despite the slowdown in growth there was no let-up in inflationary pressures. That raises the danger that the economy is heading toward stagflation, where growth lags below trend and inflation remains above trend.

Income lagged inflation. Real disposable income fell two percent in the quarter. The personal saving rate fell to 6.6 percent, down from 7.7 percent at the end of last quarter.

California Democrats to Raise State’s Gas Tax to 53.6-Cents Per Gallon This Summer:

California already has the highest gas tax in the nation and because of the Democrats, it will rise 5.6% to 53.6-cents per gallon on July 1.

California – as is usually the case – has seen the steepest prices in the country, with a gallon of gas reaching $5.68. In some parts of the state, prices are even higher: Mono County has recorded an average price of $6.61 per gallon.

Grading, Gruner argued, is “highly inequitable,” “demotivating,” and ultimately serves only to “increase students’ stress.”

And in one generation no one will be able to say or spell words like “inequitable”, “demotivating”, or any other word with more than five letters. Getting to masses ready for their masters to further enslave.

i expect even more Californians to move to TX this summer if they can't afford gasoline...we've got the space and are welcoming...but i think it's kinda like illegal immigrants who flood our country thinking it's the promised land without thinking long term- if tons keep coming here and accepting government support without the able people working, the support will quickly be diminished and where they fled to will be like or worse than where they fled from...if those from CA vote for same types of policies and people to govern us here in TX as they did in CA, it could become just like where they left- some cities already are or are moving quickly in that direction

US Egg Factory Roasts alive 3.5 million chickens in Avian flu

The Guardian

The culling has been repeated at chicken and turkey farms across Iowa and 28 other states from Maine to Utah. More than 22m birds have been killed in an attempt to contain the outbreak - the majority in Iowa, the US's biggest producer of eggs. The slaughter of 5.3m hens at Rembrandt is the largest culling at any factory farm in the country.  Then fires almost every worker …
