Good one :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: Well, try it in a cup of coffee! ? My only adventures in a cave was back in July 2002 getting a tour via a tram ride inside Fantastic Caverns - Springfield MO. Ever so often they had the cool color flood lights … map below was the adventure route thru the mountain. I got pictures somewhere I have to find. It was interesting and doable … without having any fear factor moments. B-) I would love to tour those caves! I just have to praise Jesus on this one! When I was 16 or 17 I was exploring "Whipps" ledges here in Ohio and I worked my way all the way to the top of the hill it's all on but on the way down I went a different route and came to a ledge with maybe a 10 - 15 foot drop between another ledge. So in my infinite wisdom I decided to jump across that gulf onto the other ledge thinking it was smooth sailing down hill after that. Well I got a little bit of a running start and made the jump with no problem. however my feet landed on some loose sticks and rocks and I lost my balance and fell backwards off the ledge and fell 10 - 15 feet before landing on a rotted out water logged fallen tree which broke my fall. At first I was kind of in shock and my back was hurt and I was afraid to try and move. Right away some guy saw what happened and went to get help so I just lied there waiting for help and worrying I was going to miss work. After about 20 minutes or so I could see some guy and probably his girlfriend walking towards where I was lol My first thought was I hope they don't see me lying here like this and get all freaked out that they just found a dead body in the woods so I started to try and move around for the first time and I managed to sit and then stand up and start walking towards them and boy was my back sore and my right wrist. They saw me getting up and stopped and I told them what happened then started making my way down the hill. When I got to the bottom some cop was just arriving and asked me if I saw anyone who fell and I was like "yeah it was me" and that I was ok and that I didn't need an ambulance and then left in my car. Looking back God saved me at least 2 ways that day. First the tree broke and softened my fall, and on the other side of the other ledge I jumped onto and then fell from was probably a 50 ft. straight drop down so who knows what would have happened if I would have keep going that way. So praise God for saving my physical life and for saving me from getting hurt more than I did. And while I'm am at it praise God all of His mercies He has given me in my life especially reaping what I have sown in mercy! Anyway I actually found a video that might show where I actually fell from or at least give you a perfect idea of what I was talking about. Right at the 7 minute mark for just a couple of seconds the camera goes up and possibly shows exactly where I jumped across and fell backwards from and down.
