I must confess back in 2015 Walmart was selling the “The Swiss Colony” brand around Christmas time … and I caved and bought it since I really don’t know how to make the homemade Fruit cake. My mom was an expert in that field and I regret not paying close attention. Hence … I caved for the 75 yr old expiration date kind. Of course, its not like homemade … but I have to say … I still “enjoy” it. B-) Also to note — somewhere years ago, I read that the red coloring that is added to your maraschino cherries comes from humming birds, so as you can tell I do not and have not for decades (mostly because I do not like the flavor) eat maraschino cherries. I love fresh bing cherries and can eat a basket full, non-stop :mdrmdr: Well, a perfectly good chocolate thread has clearly been been re-routed. :mdrmdr: Who knew there would be soooo many naysayers towards an innocent tasty fruity cake.
