Carob is good!

Can't wait to go shopping at Heaven's super mart!  Getting to decorate and landscape our new abode!

Looking forward to the white light specials!

Geri, grab a hand full of carob chips and eat them. You won't think "chocolate". :negative:  Lol

That reminds me of the time we went to Hershey PA (around 1974) and my mom bought a bar of soap that looked like chocolate. My kid sister didn't know any better. I came out of the bathroom in tears I was laughing so hard! There was that bar of soap with a bite taken out of it. She never made that mistake again! Lol

Oh your poor sister. :mdrmdr:   That is so cool with the Hershey soap!  I was at the Hershey, PA store in 2002 ... I wish I saw the soap ... I would have bought a whole bunch.  I still have this denim shirt.  It faded over time but I still get compliments if I wear it.

Well you’re sister would have loved my Mickey Mouse bathroom ... I used to keep Mickey lollipops and Disney chocolates in 2 containers on the sink counter.  My nieces and nephews gladly went up another flight of stairs to use THAT bathroom ... here 2 other bathrooms were free on the main floor but they REALLY wanted the candy.  The first year I had them on display their parents couldn’t understand why their kids kept saying “they have to go to the bathroom again.” :mdrmdr:

I had a co-worker who was craving chocolate and her sister played a dirty trick by giving her a couple of ex-lax chocolate bars.  The funny thing was it never made her go to the bathroom ... so she kept giving her more and nothing happened.  So the trick backfired and then their mom went looking for them and they were all gone and the big sister got in trouble. :mdrmdr:

I might have to buy a very small bag of carob chips ... hey, if I don’t like them I know my dog will eat them. B-)

I was just at this one grocery store in town …

I wanted to redeem the Orange Crush soda bottles and their return machine said “store doesn’t carry this brand” when I bought the soda directly from this store.  I asked the worker at the courtesy desk if they can fix their bottle machine to accept the Orange Crush and was told sorry we can’t fix it.

This same store is also putting sale prices on items but its not ringing up the sale but the receipt slip will put the S next to the item to indicate you got the sale price.   For instance … a 4 pack of Duracell 9V batteries last week were listed as $5.99 but it rung up $10.99 and the original price was $6.99.  Go figure.   I caught that one right away and the cashier had to do an override and made the adjustment … then today the container of hot house tomatoes should be on sale for $3.99 but it rang up $6.99 so I told them to please remove the item … I’m not that desperate for tomatoes.

Their overprice corn-on-the-cob is just sitting there “on sale” 5 ears for $6.99 … wow some “sale” and they got this big sign NO SHUCKING THE CORN!  Please keep your 6 ft safe distance.   No problem there … since nobody is buying their “sale” corn.

The California blueberries were marked down to $2.50 a container but I could see fungus mold forming … no thanks.

They are almost out of milk … no 1/2 gallons or pints … the case is empty except for the gallon size … only 4 bottles left … this is pitiful since I live in dairyland.  Makes you wonder if they slaughtered the cows?

And I wanted whip cream in the spray can but they got it jacked up to $5.99! :negative:

Drove over to the other grocery store in town was able to get the 1 pint of milk and a large can of spray whip cream was $2.50 :yahoo:

True prices are creeping up everywhere and on everything. My hubby is a bi-vocational pastor, meaning he has a second job, mostly because since COVID we’ve lost 50% of the congregation to death or illness or fear! He just took over this church right before the planned-demic occurred. Anyway, I digress, his other job is selling solar, it was discovered that the electric companies have been given approval from our fake government  authorities to raise rates 6.4% annually or more often if demand shifts higher. That’s a hike —- I have solar and feed the grid, so my rates never go up but I feel for folks. Water is also a utility that has automatic increases, wish I had a well 🙁

I have slowly been building our supply up from MyPatriot and Ready Wise ... but rice, oatmeal, beans works well. Tuna and spam will suffice too. Don’t forget the kitty liter, helps if you have to resort to a lug-a-ble loo! Keep a 5 gallon bucket! You should have at least a 10 gallon container for each person in your household and that’s just for starters. Don’t forget the kerosene lanterns either ... I could go on .... maybe should start a thread on survival ... I followed Joseph’s plan to prepare, if not for me (praying rapture), then for those left to find. We’ve had this discussion before or am I doing a dejavu thing? :calvin

Geri, don’t let the guys get to ya! Bread is easy to make, minus the bread maker. I’ve done it both ways, I actually prefer no bread maker. I found this awesome book decades ago by the Mennonites called “Gathering up the crumbs” and it’s a cookbook full of foods from basics like beans, grains, rice, etc.... I live by this book - you got a loaf pan, you got bread! Biscuits (minus bisquik) are so easy and yummy. Even pretzels are fun and easy! You got this girl ..... :yahoo: :good:

Hi Tammie! I'm a pastor too and have been bi-vocational lots of times over the last 20 years! I know what it's like. Glad you guys are faithfully serving; yes, with the crisis of the last year pastoring has been a challenge (understatement?). Praying for the Lord's blessings, strengthening and continued anointing for you... please let me know how I can pray. God bless! :prayer-hands:
