heading to local grocery now...have a limited amount can spend this time cuz we've been trying to get stuff while we can and stay ahead of things lately and been spending so much more  & more often than we normally do...i try not to think too much about it, but often over past year really, i find myself feeling almost depressed when grocery shopping even though God is still providing abundantly for us- it's just scary...i do wonder how some people are making ends meet...hubby & i both know 20 yrs ago if this had happened we (in our separate lives- didn't know each other yet) couldn't have afforded enough food and gas etc. cuz barely could without major inflation...i hate it for people who don't know the Lord- how hopeless and terrified they must be these days....i pray they will be drawn to Him by His Spirit and they will find hope in Him and eternity with the One Who loves them and is the giver of all that is truly good....let's keep the lost and each other in prayers- these are difficult days for all people in all different ways- seems to be escalating...hope we are soon elevating outta here!

Geri,

I am with you, having given up buying bacon in the store, 4 months ago. I went to an old time butcher shop that gets local beef, pork, turkey, and chicken. I loaded up the deep freeze several months ago and use the joys sparingly. I have not bought meat in 4 months now and wont again is my prayer, as we will fly soon, my stache should hold me. If not, I move to the dehydrated stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I still go to the store but it is to buy minimal food stuff, my garden is in full swing so fruits are purchased, albeit, sparingly. One thing that has not gone up in price is white rice, dry beans, and lentils. So I set about to create spare food jars (the ones used for canning - wide mouth - I had a bunch) of 5 bean and lentil soup mixes. I placed the spices, dry bone broth, and dehydrated carrots and onions into the jars on top of the beans or lentil jars ready to go, for whoever finds them or my family if we decide to have a pot of bean soup or lentil soup, if we have meat it can be added, if not, we still eat healthy.

We were told this was coming, I guess I took them seriously and prepared for it. The only thing I have to buy now is Almond milk, the occasional egg, some fruits and the gas to get to work (that is a bummer in itself).

Like most, I am just ready to fly :prayer-hands: May it be today Abba!
