An awesomely delicious thought occur to me right after finishing my Bible reading and memory work .... We have gone this road once before, but encourage each other with a few of your favorite things (as Julie Andrews is well known for singing) :popcorn :popcorn :popcorn :prayer-hands: My favorite as well. A nice coke float, an egg cream soda, egg nog with just a splash of brandy! Some delicious pastries and apple blueberry pie with the flakiest crust! I hate it when I make myself hungry. There are many foods I truly enjoy, but most of the time I view eating as a chore. But then again are'nt most things under the sun! TR I enjoy a well made pastry (most I’ve had for the past 20 yrs have not been because of my Celiac); I have been muchly deprived of flaky crusts ( not flaky friends - present company excluded, except made Dan :mdrmdr: Just kiddin with ya) another great food is a lemon tart (not had one of those either, but I do remember them). The cold cream soda sounds good. I can’t have Brandy either, but I’ve often wondered if we will have an awesome wine in our heavenly abode. I'm in trouble with the wine. I hate all wines, and hard liquor. Sweet liqueurs are ok. One tomato beer every six months and I'm done! Love lemon anything! And spice cake! TR Ooh la la, my favorite subject ... FOOD! I expect to see all our favorite desserts up in heaven only the ingredients will be organic, no fake chemicals added. Italian cookies and pastries, jelly donuts, struffoli, zeppoli, cannolis, cheesecakes, brownies, chocolate cakes, pistachio pudding cake, sponge cakes with 3 layers of various fruit and whip cream, ice-cream cakes, every pie under the sun ... lemon meringue, chocolate, coconut cream, etc. Oh and can’t forget the almond horse shoes dipped in chocolate .. YUM! Homemade Italian lemon or lime ice. The secret is to grate some of the rinds in to get the flavor. The stuff they sell in the supermarkets is just nasty and fake. The way I see it ... as long as there are cows ... I believe we still will have ice cream and creamery shops. Looking forward also to all sorts of breads and bagels with butter and cream cheese. I’m not a fan of alcohol ... my version of mix drinks is ... OceanSpray cran-grape juice with ginger ale. I hope the wine in heaven is not fermented and taste more like the first press of fresh squeezed grape juice and had no time to change over to the dark side. B-) This verse from Esther 1:8 could be a reference to us in Heaven while the Tribulation is going on. Especially the last sentence. "And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure." So if you want to find me during that time just look for me at the buffets : ) My favorite is Haagen Dazs Mint Chip! Mmmmmmmmm The only place it will be better is in Heaven but for now, this is my favorite! Every time I have some I wonder if its going to be the last time. If nothing else, it causes me to enjoy it all the more. Leaving earthly pleasures and appetites behind, won't compare to what awaits! God's goodness towards us will not be measured or counted! Simply impossible! Oh, but to be more pleasing and desirable to Him I consider my meat! TR TR, I once heard a preacher say that everything good down here is just a cheap imitation of the real thing up in Heaven : ) As was said of the Ark! TR
I decided to have a bit of my all time favorite ice cream on this 97 degree day. I love, love, love Madagascar Vanilla Bean ice cream .. the thought came to me ... take the bites slowly and savor it for the cold and flavor, this will be the last time you have this ... not that I’m saying anything by this thought except to say, what do you enjoy and have you thought it might be the last time ....
Ok now I’m getting hungry... gotta go the roster crows early in my neck of the woods. Maybe tonight is the night for trumpets! :prayer-hands:
