Hmmm ... if they are expecting an 8+ quake by the end of September ... could it be Yellowstone is about to explode?  The distance is only 10 hrs 3 minutes away ...

@geri7 I was in the Red Zone the morning that Mt. St. Helens erupted.    I was on the south west flank of the mountain fishing with my cousin when it erupted - fortunately it blew north.    It was an unworldly event for me - the power of the eruption while standing near the base and seeing rocks the size of houses fly hundreds of feet into the air out of the mouth of the volcano - and the lightening within the cloud was like something out of a science fiction movie.   I can't imagine experiencing Yellowstone's eruption.

How curious that wildfires en masse herald in our departure!

Again, the rainbow reminds us, not by water but by fire!

It has been pretty bad here in the Bay Area of California too.  The sky has been yellow or orange all day, no sun shining.  This is because of smoke from the fires in the Sierra Mountains.  It's just creepy and dark.  One of the fires, the Creek Fire, was set by people using smoke bombs for a "gender-reveal" party.  I guess that's a thing now.  They tried to put it out, but only had their plastic water bottles with them.

Todd, that had to have been one of the most incredible moments to witness Mt St Helens blowing! Not only to see it so close but to escape being killed by it!

Raised in Fremont, and lived a couple of years in Boulder Creek and Scott's Valley Santa Cruz way.

Went to Bethany bible college for one semester.
