Amir Tsarfati, Sept 26: Following the report according to which the US Department of Justice filed indictments against senior Hamas officials, including Yahya Sinwar, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham explains the situation to Sinwar: Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar planned to smuggle himself, other Hamas leaders, and the remaining Israeli hostages through the Philadelphi Corridor to Sinai and from there to Iran, the Jewish Chronicle reported on Thursday, citing intelligence officials. According to the report, the plan was revealed by a captured senior Hamas official during his interrogation by Israeli security forces, as well as by information obtained from documents seized last week, the same day the six bodies of the murdered hostages were retrieved. The report notes that the Hamas leader understands that the end of his organization is near and his only way out would be to sneak out of the Gaza Strip and flee to Iran. For that reason, according to the report, Hamas is insisting on Israel withdrawing from the corridor which runs along the Egyptian border. The Prime Minister explained his opposition to relinquishing control over the Philadelphi Corridor: "It prevents Gaza from becoming this Iranian terror enclave again, which can threaten our existence, but it's also the way to prevent them from smuggling hostages that they keep through the cease-fire into Egypt, into the Sinai, where they could disappear, and then they'll end up in Iran or in Yemen, and they're lost forever." He added: "So if you want to release the hostages and you want to make sure that Gaza doesn't pose a threat to Israel again, you've got to keep the Philadelphi corridor … and that's what we're really doing right now." Former US President and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed the Republican Jewish Coalition on Thursday. At the beginning of his remarks, Trump addressed the execution of six Israeli hostages by Hamas terrorists in Gaza a week ago. "As we speak today, we are all devastated by the horrific death of our fellow American, Hersh Goldberg-Polin. And this is so sad to even say. Sinwar Told Hamas Negotiators to Stall: Yahya Sinwar issued instruction to Hamas negotiators to stall in the ceasefire negotiations to ensure the Palestinian group would be able to rebuild its military might in Gaza, a document retrieved from the jihadist leader’s computer shows. The document, obtained by the German outlet BILD, dates to earlier in the year and was reportedly approved by Sinwar personally. It puts paid to the notion that Hamas has any interest in ending the war quickly and alleviating the suffering of Gaza residents; the jihadist group’s sole focus is on preserving its military capabilities to act against Israel. It suggests prolonging negotiations to improve key terms, even if this means delaying the talks. One of the tactics outlined in the memo is the continued application of psychological torture against the families of the hostages to increase public pressure on the government to cave in to Hamas demands. The United Nations Security Council met on September 4, 2024, ostensibly to discuss, at Israel’s request, Hamas’s cold-blooded execution of six hostages whom it had held captive since October 7th. But the meeting was quickly highjacked by Algeria, a member of the Council and the representative of the Arab group of states. Security Council President Žbogar used the global platform that Žbogar provided her to parrot pro-Hamas propaganda. She declared that the Israeli government is "criminal," "apartheid," and "cruel" and "does not want to return the hostages in a deal, but to continue the war, indefinitely." Novak even questioned Israel’s right to exist as a safe haven for the Jewish people after many centuries of persecution, capped by the Holocaust. "Since Israel was founded, its guiding logic has been to promote Jewish supremacy over the entire territory under its control," she charged. Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon reminded the Security Council about the horrors committed by Hamas on October 7th and described the crimes against humanity the terrorists have committed against the hostages, including the executions as well as physical and sexual abuse. He held up pictures of each of the six hostages murdered by Hamas. "These six beautiful innocent heroic souls were executed by Hamas after more than 330 days of being held captive. Hamas shot bullets in the back of each of their heads," he said. Ambassador Danon challenged the Security Council, telling its members that if they "truly cared for the Palestinian people, and truly wanted an end to this war which Hamas started, [they] would officially draft and pass a resolution designating Hamas a terrorist organization, and condemning Hamas for its hostage-taking." Of course, that will not happen. At the United Nations, Israel is always cast as the villain. No wonder that, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey, more than three-quarters of Israelis have a negative view of the UN. Given the UN’s disgraceful anti-Israel bias in its handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Israelis’ negative view of the UN should be much closer to 100 percent. There is only one slight problem - there is no deal. Hamas isn’t interested in one and the Americans can verify that. The German BILD magazine exposed a document found on Hamas computers in April which confirms Hamas strategy: to always elevate the demands and keep blaming the Israeli side. That would cause internal chaos.
