I'm part of the Jews for Jesus live chat team, and in answering inquirers' tickets today I found this article to share with my RITA Now family.

Thank you for the article.

I believe that Herod the "great" died in 1 BC.  There was a transmission error in Josephus' writings.

I also believe Yeshua was conceived on December 25th,  4 BC.  Life begins at conception so that is worth celebrating. :yahoo:

I believe He was born in the fall of 3 BC.

Best of all,  though,  is that He came. If He hadn't,  we'd all still be lost in our sins.

Interesting article but I still hold to a Spring birth because shepherd’s only watched their flocks at night during lambing season, which is in Spring. It’s no wonder why God never told humans when Christ was born. Look what we’ve done with His birthday without knowing when! Even the words to our beloved Christmas songs get it wrong. “And we’ll live forever more because of Christmas Day”. WRONG!!! Last I checked it was because of Resurrection Day. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you all! My Christ’s love be with each of you until His coming to take us home!

So very true - we idolize anything, everything, and most anyone! We want a physical King, instead of God Almighty .... we must know everything to the empt degree, instead of trusting the Father! Beautiful is the peace and contentment of knowing ALL things are in His perfect control and we do not have to do anything but listen, wait, watch, obey, and pray. :prayer-hands:

Well,  if He didn't come to this earth then he wouldn't have lived on this earth.  Then He wouldn't have died and He wouldn't have risen from the dead.  All these things are necessary and important for our salvation. Smile
I'm grateful that He came,  lived among us died for our sins having lived a perfect life and then conquered death by rising from the dead.  The grave couldn't hold Him.  :yahoo:

I do agree, though,  that we shouldn't emphasize one event over another.
