IN SPITE OF Why do people have to be, So cruel and act defiantly? Don’t they know that it doesn’t hurt, To smile in place of being curt? Their personalities stem from a misspent youth, For they’ll lie to your face and swear it’s the truth; And stand there calling themselves your friend – Never returning the favors they ask you to lend. They’d just as soon dethrone you, As to meet you face-to-face, But don’t expect an apology, They won’t suffer the disgrace! Their contentious behavior stands prominently clear – What others love they tend to fear; And instead of happiness for what others gain, They display their envy and disdain. My faith is something they can’t grasp, I’m saved solely by my Saviour’s Blood, Some day soon they’ll realize their error, When the Tribulation comes in like a raging flood. So let them live their lives of greed, And drown themselves in obscurity; I’ll gain my strength while they connive, And through their inadequacies I’ll survive. This is my life, but I share it freely because as a Christian Soldier I know I am not alone. Hang in friends, just a little while longer. Your pal, Humbly Indeed at one time or another we can all easily be self absorbed. This is human nature. But as believers in Christ we are told to emulate Him and His love. All we can do is endeavor to learn and grow from our mistakes and let sins of the past remain there. As the Word instructs us, we need not borrow tomorrows problems today, for today already has it's own share of them. TR
