Seems to me that when we hug one another and even inanimate objects, it's like souls kissing souls.

Hugs allows our souls to meet.  More than a handshake which was an extension of showing an open hand free of any weapon.

Hugs or an "embrace" offers recognition, acceptance and a mutual transference of wishing wellness upon another.  A hug that is mutually shared initiates a bond between the two.

Having said this, it is with heartfelt warmth of spirit that I can say, I look forward to hugging everyone here at RITAN!

A hug is love with handles!  What are your thoughts?

Love & blessings...TR

I'll have nothing but time!  It's a date.  Let your husband know!

Oh, that's so sweet, TR, thank you!  Ummm...you might have to wait a few years for your turn to hug my husband as I may monopolize him for awhile.   Hahaha  God bless you...you are indeed a "tender reed."    :rose:

Bless your heart Elaine!

I'm sure your husband is awaiting to hug you also, with the greatest of anticipation.

I know that inanimate objects can hold special meanings for us, as they generally remind us of someone.  Kinda like the Ark of the Covenant would remind Israel of God!

And as has often been spoken of, God loves intimacy! Intimacy in body, soul and spirit!

I'll even hug your husband if you can break yourself free of him!

Beautifully said, Tender Reed...hugs just have a way of making us feel loved.  I think I have read that a hug increases something in your brain...serotonin maybe?  I love hugs from my children and grandchildren and 0ne great grandchild...but...

I'm glad you said also inantimate  objects because I must confess to hugging my dear husband's shirts, sweaters, pictures, his bible and things that meant a lot to him.  It's been 2 years now, and, oh I can't wait to give him a hug in person soon.  Don't laugh but one time I tried to give myself a hug from him.  That didn't work out well.  haha

Well enough of that...hugs are great and I thank God for this expression of love and joy!

I agree, Dan...no love handles in heaven!!      :mdrmdr:

Blessings,

Elaine
