We hit 106 yesterday.  Expecting 107 today, and 111 on Tues!  Then hover near the 100's for about a week!

So is the kitchen closed off during this extreme heat wave? Do you have plans to go out to eat or do you use the outside grill?

How do you stay cool? With ice pops, ice cream, cold drinks like Ice Tea/Lemonade?  B-)

The high today will reach 90 but that is considered normal around here for this time of the year.  I had my ac on earlier just to cool it down to 70 degrees and now I have a big fan on in the room I’m in.  So its staying cool indoors.

I’m going to grill some hamburgers and then make a quick batch Italian Struffoli for dessert that should only take like 10 minutes on the stove.

No appetite!  Recently bought 3 air conditioning window units, really helps!  Drinking cold soda's, milk and popsicles!

Good for you!  So glad you have 3 AC units!  What did people do years ago without AC?   Perhaps they all had swimming pools or they stayed near the beach?

Whaat?!  No appetite? :calvin     I just made a batch of macaroni salad to go along with the hamburgers.   I cooked the elbow macaroni in a covered glass Pyrex dish in the microwave so I didn’t have to turn on the stove at all.   Waiting for the macaroni salad to chill before I cook the hamburgers.  My dog will get a plain one … I will add onions inside mine.

I normally make my own natural ice pops out of fruit juices but on Saturday I caved and bought a bag of those fla vor ice sticks.  I haven’t had them since the 1980’s and was curious what they tasted like.   I’m sure they contain the fake toxic flavoring … they actually didn’t taste that bad.  B-)

Given a 4 statewide run on air conditioning units, I was bless to get the last few remaining!  Praise be the Lord!

We were at the Oregon coast yesterday where it was over 100 - unheard of temperatures.   Our hotel didn't have air conditioning as rarely is the Oregon coast hotter than the 70's.   This morning we woke up to 62 degrees and it felt great.   Driving home (Monday) we went from 62 at noon on the coast to 114 in Portland in a matter of 50 minutes.    52 degree difference between Cannon Beach and Portland.   Something Biblical is going on.    Our yard is dead -- our plants - which I deep watered on Sunday morning - are all wilted.    Fortunately we have whole house air conditioning - otherwise it would be absolutely unbearable.    They're saying its a once in a thousand year event.  With the drought, high temperatures, we're in for a doozy of a fire season.   Last summer was pretty scary with all the evacuations just a couple of miles from our house.   Lord get us out of here!

Charlie Garrett (The Superior Word) mentioned in his latest prophecy update that California may be regretting the call to have everyone driving electric cars given the high demand on electricity there. Lol! I love irony!

Yes, they are already telling people to save energy during peak hours by not charging their cars.
Also, we are not supposed to use major appliances, do laundry, wash dishes, etc.
