Truth be known, Heaven is wherever the Lord resides! Firstly we shall meet with Him in the third Heaven. Then we are told that in the New Earth He will make His abode here with us, this then will become Heaven. Seems to me then that Heaven is more than just a place, but rather a positional confluence. This speaking to the glorious truth relationship. And yet as much as the Lord has extended Himself towards man, many simply have refused His advances. Seems to me that this even before the sin issue would be enough to qualify anyone for entrance into Hell! Heaven indeed will be populated with sinners, and Hell with many good people. This in itself highlights the priority of relationship! TR Point being is that God can forgive sin, but He can't make anyone give Him their heart!!!! Marriage is the template of the type and nature of the relationship He is looking for with each of us. The joys, expectations and pleasures of this relationship speak of intimacy firstly, then security and lastly eternal assurance! TR I didn’t know where to post this ... since its about heaven ... I thought I would place it in this thread T.R. started about “Heaven is in sight” ... Just wondering if any of you saw the youtube of Lois Evans memorial service? If not, here is part of the transcript. She saw glimpses of heaven and her loved ones a few days before dying. This is the part I’m really nervous about ... “She saw her mother standing besides a fireplace” yeah that’s not a typo ... a fireplace in heaven! Does this mean there is snow and cold weather up there too? :negative: Praying hard now my assigned tiny abode is located on the warm tropical beach side and not the North Pole. Just wondering if any of you are concerned about the “fireplace” sighting? B-) Lois Evans Caught a Glimpse of Eternity: The Amazing Things She Saw Right Before She Died CBN News Pastor Tony Evans says something supernatural was happening during his wife Lois' final moments on earth, and the family was there to witness it. Lois Evans had been battling a rare form of cancer and the family had gathered around her in late December to say goodbye. At some point during their farewell moments, he says she began to speak about seeing "something outside earth's realm". It seems she was catching a glimpse of family members in heaven, perhaps like the "cloud of witnesses" described in Hebrews 12:1. During the recently held memorial service, Tony Evans, who is the senior pastor at the Oak Cliff Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas, recalled what happened during Lois' final days. Pastor Evans said, "One of the things that I've observed in life and in scripture is that when people walk with God and He doesn't take them suddenly, He will give them a glimpse of heaven while they're still transitioning from earth. He will let them know, not only that it's time, but it's okay." He says while Lois was battling, they did receive good news that the doctors were surprised at how well she was doing, fighting a medically incurable disease. He credits the power of faith for giving them hope, saying, "You were praying for us, and we felt the prayers extending time." While they were given more time with her than doctors had predicted, in the end, her departure from earth came, and that's when she glimpsed the spirit realm. "Simultaneous to the time of her departure were things taking place that were letting us know she was dealing with something outside of the earth's realm," he said. “For example, she said to some who were gathered in the room, 'Do you see my mother? Do you see her? She's right over there by the fireplace.' Do you see her? Why can't you see her? On another occasion, she said, 'My father. There's my father.' And there was no one in the room physically. She was seeing something as the time of her departure got closer." Pastor Evans says she also appeared to get a message from beyond this earth about the time of her departure. "She said, 'Two days, two days, take me up.' Two and a half days later she was gone. She heard something, she saw something as the time of her departure got nearer. Like Stephen in Acts chapter 7 who, when he was being stoned to death, he says he saw heaven opened and Jesus standing on the right hand of the Father giving him a standing ovation." "When the time of your departure comes, you want to be close enough to God that you can hear things that other folk can't hear and see things that other folk can't hear," Evans said. - Fair Use - I read that yesterday on a different site. My great grandmother had a similar experience right before she passed into eternity. She was said to be looking at something no one else could see and had just joy in her eyes and on her face as she passed. She was a devout Christian. That's understandable, Geri, that you are concerned about wintry weather. I'll cut you a lot of slack given what you've experienced lately. What I imagine up there is our having a choice, maybe a daily choice, to go then to our pad or else maybe a hostel near the beach, so you can water ski boat-assisted, or else to go to your pad in the mountains for slope-assisted snow skiing. I agree .. I think its amazing hearing a believer (especially when its our blood relative ... makes it all the more comforting) when they are near death and can start seeing things beyond the natural because the cloudy veil is being slowly lifted. I like reading the on-line testimonies. Yeah, Dan, so glad you’re showing some mercy ... the storms just keep coming ... just moved my vehicle so the snow plow guy could clear my driveway. Also shoveled the back porch and sidewalk. :negative: Snow to continue all day today ... tomorrow sunny with a heatwave toasty high of 12 degrees and then dropping to -2 at night ... then Saturday and Sunday snow snow snow snow. That would be great to have a choice of climate locations preference in heaven. I hope there is plenty of room on the warm side because I don’t plan on trading spaces any time soon, if we have to switch places with anybody. Perhaps after a gazillon years I “might” be in the sharing mood. Yes, I’m game for water skiing! Brace yourself ... I’m also willing to take up the hobby of fishing off the pier ... yeah can you believe that? However, any fish caught will automatically be tossed back into the waters since there is no killing in heaven. So fishing will be a pleasant sport for all. I hope to have the assignment of enforcing those rules of throwing the fish back if you’re on the same pier with me. Perhaps I will have the pier all to myself? B-) My now dealing with snow has led to a startling conclusion. Making it to work and back in one piece seems to be one of life's greatest victories! Who da thought?! Love the story shared. Indeed many saints often have similar encounters. Why some and not all, who can say. My grandmother was supposedly visited by angels in her hospital room, about a month before she died! Not only is Heaven sometimes opened to human eyes, but what a testimony that when visitations by Christ are reported! Not Buddha, not Confucious, not Krishna, no one but Christ! And He is always immediately recognized, even by those of other faiths! TR Yes, I’m amazed how some people will see 1 angel, others will see a bunch of angels and some will see Jesus coming down to escort them to home! Truly amazing of the various accounts. D.L. Moody testimony ... “If this is death, there is no valley. This is glorious. I have been within the gates and I saw the children, Dwight and Irene" (his two grandchildren who had died). "Earth is receding. Heaven is approaching. God is calling me” This website has the free on-line accounts PDF format of deathbed experiences of both the saved and the unsaved. The saved ones are such a joy to read. Google “Dying Testimonies Of Saved And Unsaved - Insights of God”
