Many of you probably watched these already in the past. Chuck explained the origin, background, and histories of Halloween and much more. Please, enjoy. -Fair Use- I didn’t get a chance to watch the youtubes … but I will. Been busy lately. Personally, I don’t carve pumpkins … and I normally don’t buy pumpkins but the food bank gave me 4 small pumpkins and 4 acorn squash (I gave to my sister-in-law) because I wasn’t sure how to cook them. So I have the pumpkins on display on my front porch and I purchased this cheap pumpkin sign which says “Thankful & Blessed” from the dollar store or should I say $1.25 store. I normally don’t decorate for Halloween/Thanksgiving but this year I did … I don’t see any sinful harm in my decorations … after all God created the pumpkins. And if the kids do knock I have candy (100,000 chocolate bars and a couple of dum dum’s lollipops for them along with a children’s Bible Tract). Not sure who will show up … but I’m ready just in case. I think Halloween can be observed in a number of ways, including it being very much occult, but I also think that in todays society it doesn't necessarily have the same meaning. The argument could be made concerning Christmas, too and the way may Christian justify it as being a celebration of Christ's birth because that is their interpretation of it yet most everything relating to Christmas comes from pagan origins. The Bible is so vague about the timing of Christ's birth that it makes one think it was rather insignificant in God's view. I don't believe everything about Halloween is evil nor do I believe everything about Christmas is pagan. I think an argument can be made either way. In the end, where are our hearts? Are we in love with Jesus? I think all of us here are but I also know that we all sin every single day. That is where grace comes in. I am not going to worry about Halloween when kids come knocking on my door tonight. If there is any candy left in the bowl I will give it to them. 😉 :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: ......took me a minute! :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: Let's see... If you thought 50 kids might come tonight, and you have 100,000 chocolate bars, then each kid should be given 2,000 bars. If 100 kids, then 1,000 each. Right? That may be too heavy for each kid to carry. So Geri, I propose a solution... Whatever the kids are unable to carry away tonight, the RITA gang here, including the WhiteStones, will surely be willing to assimilate your excess chocolate bars. Even pay shipping and handling too to help our sister, you. Deal?   😉 :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: PS -- put the tracts in their pockets. Don't let them get lost in all those bars. I agree with Yohanan 100% We don't live technically, but most of us with simply good intentions! The ultimatum behind the phrase "trick or treat" is lost on most kids and adults! There is more danger in TV programming and video games than in Halloween! We need to be aware of so many things today while applying some common sense and personally understanding as to why we celebrate what we do! If the intentions of our hearts are pure, why look for a demon under every rock?! TR 😂🤣 I reckon I didn’t word that right, Dan. Make that 100 GRAND bars. 😉 So far no kiddos yet I see some playing outdoors but not dressed up in outfits. I would love to share some … got plenty but not as much as you think I have. B-) I’m currently watching a hilarious side show next door. My neighbor is trying to sell her son’s clunker vehicle that has been sitting in her driveway for over 1 year … the sister of the potential buyer was using a hammer … yes a hammer to pound the tires with. 😳 Why? And they are using every method to get it started … but first it took about 10 minutes to try to get the hood up. Then it crank over and made this loud noise and then conk out. 😆 I think the mice had a field day all year long. They brought a car trailer … I think they just need to use old fashion man power and push it on to the trailer and haul it away. This might be an all nighter … they been here over 1 hr. B-) Those hammers are getting around!! Yeah still trying to figure out why they needed to hammer the tires? Were they stuck and wouldn't turn? Well the potential buyer finally was able to backed it up on to the car carrier and his family were clapping for joy and then for some reason he didn’t like the sound and drove it off the carrier and then it conked out again. 😂 Then you heard groans … So they had to push it back into the driveway and its sitting there once more and I’m groaning having to look at the abandon car again. They really need to call the salvage dump and have them haul it away. A charity might come and take it off their hands. and hand them a receipt for a tax write-off. :mail: Once my 18 year old son parted out an old worthless Dodge Charger, and decided after several months to move out of state, leaving it on the driveway up on chocks. It cost me $75 dollars to have a tow truck drag it off, but as it was being dragged down the street, I took great pleasure in throwing big rocks rocks at it! I imagine the Charger was wondering, "Why me?!"
