One of my earliest threads on Resurrected RITA Now a couple weeks ago, was about the Sovereignty of God.  This morning in poking up YouTubes I found this video.  I said to myself, "Yeah! That's what I was trying to say!"    (In case you'd like to check out the previous post, here's the link:   www.raptureintheairnow.com/topic/gods-sovereignty-a-minority-opinion-weigh-in-here-whistle/ )  We have an amazing awesome God!!!

I hope you are blessed by these responses, which despite the YouTube title are not adversarial.

There is a time for everything in God's plan, but I don't believe that what God Himself has said the devil comes to do, can in any way be attributed to the Lord. As in, did God take the boy's father, or did satan come to kill steal and destroy. This is the defining difference for me.

What God does do, is turn every situation meant for evil, to good for those who love God, and who find Him in the tragedies of life.

Piper thinks his answer is comforting? Hah! His conclusion is based on circular reasoning.

Piper is a Calvinist.  Ravi is not.  That needed to be clarified.

God does not orchestrate evil, He allows it to fulfill His purpose.  Does that mean God is not in control?  No it does not!  If God controls everything, then we no longer have our free will, which is not biblical.  I think the big hang up here is to think that God's sovereignty is equal to God's control.  It is not the same.  Sovereignty means God is the authority not the controlling force.

It gets very confusing to think that God would want to control all things.  If He wanted control, He would not have allowed sin in the first place.  Why would a loving God allow sin?  To fulfill His purpose of finding Himself a bride for all eternity.

"Piper is a Calvinist." Ha! Yes. That makes sense.
