The angels stand in awe of God's redemption plans for men. They wonder at the great favor towards men of every station in life. And they are green with envy that God has offered man His heart! I'm sure their greatest fantasy is to be like man. And many of us aspire to be like the angels. We just don't simply understand our blessed lot in this life and in the one to come! TR Ha! I was going to reply “nope, I’ve never seen a St. Patty Day angel” but I see what you did there by saying the angels are green with envy because of the relationship God has with man. Yes, indeed Angels are in aw how they saw Jesus humble Himself by leaving Heaven’s glory and took on a human body and gave His life a ransom to redeem man back into God’s family. I’m sure they are also amazed that we can sin and yet the Lord is faithful in removing those sins when we pray and ask for forgiveness and the fellowship is immediately restored once more. Sadly we just don't realize what we have been given, nor the depth of love or joy that causes God to glory in us! Talk about humbling! It almost can make one feel sorry for the angels. That said, it does highlight how great God's grace is towards each of us! Again, I am reminded of those who chase after and envy angels. Satan surely feels the sting of being considered only a servant of the Most High. Never able to call Him friend or lover, his rage will continue throughout eternity! TR I know I’ve never seen one of Gods heavenly angels because if I had I’m quite sure they would have been shaking their head and face palming :groan Seems to me that many of us have entertained angels unawares. The closest that I have gotten to one has to be when a sister in the Lord shared that the Lord had revealed my guardian angel to her. She then began to describe it for me. TR LOL ... for some of us our guardian angels are working overtime. That’s for sure. My brother claims mine doesn’t have his wings yet. 🙁 Seriously though I do wonder if the angels are going to get a tad bored after we all get to heaven. Wouldn’t that mean no more guardian duties for them? I also wonder if we shared the same guardian angel with other believers down through the ages? Or are there enough angels to personally guard each believer? Many have often assumed that we each have one guardian angel assigned to each of us. Some speculate that we may actually have two. I guess based on the history of angelic actions with men and the gospel accounts two angels present when the Lord raised from the grave. I know mine has been extremely busy keeping me safe, during spiritual warfare for me and simply being a deterrent against any demonic attacks. We are also given to believe that these angels are assigned to us from an early age, if not from birth! TR And to think that for years I've been saying: I could have been an angel! Silly me. But to continue to highlight the differences between men and angels only reinforces how separate and holy we are in His sight! And the way He sees things is all that counts! Surely none of the Lord's creation, no creature, animal, plant or world has known the blessings of God more than Man! While all else are the working of His hands, we are the workings of His heart! And yet who is Man that the Lord God Almighty is mindful of him?! TR TR, Never having studied Angelology!,, I have not aspired to be one, my striving has been to be like Christ, “I must decrease and He must increase” That being said, what you stated in the beginning is truth, angels cannot understand man and the awesome love relationship that exists between God and man, the incarnate God created an even deeper bond with the cross, not only saving mankind through the shedding His blood but buying back the whole of creation. The covenant is incredibly complex, yet so simplistic that all creation can only say God Reigns! I am looking forward to thanking whomever God sent at various times of trial to intercede for this lowly human, they have sure been put to it. Only a few times in my life have I had the thought that I faced an angel sent from God to guide me in an extreme trial and hardship. I look forward to “wearing” my undeserved title of Saint, very humbled and thankful to be counted among those who can be a door keeper in the house of God. :prayer-hands: Well said, Sis! You a door keeper and me a waiter of tables. Cool! TR
