Christmas Vacation

There is just something weird about an adult not being able to come and go as he/she pleases. This whole lockdown scenario is just bizarre! But in a sense it feels like Christmas vacation from when we were all kids. Back then Christmas vacation could never come soon enough. I got to sleep in every morning. Got to stay in my pajamas until whenever. Didn’t have to go to school. I was home and I was happily waiting for Christmas day!

With the Christmas season being pushed upon us even before halloween it’s hard not to look forward to it and think of those times when I was a kid, especially since the lockdowns began and I find myself sleeping in (not getting up at 6:00 am), wearing my pj’s until noon and then making myself get cleaned up. I don’t go on account calls anymore (only one this year). I haven’t been on an airplane since Feb 2020. And I live in a Red state! But most businesses are still not allowing outsider into their building, if they are even back to working there. This is a stark contrast to living on the interstates, covering a ten state territory, racking up Delta frequent flyer miles, going to conventions, etc. And now that the weather is turning colder and Christmas is ubiquitous it’s not hard to see the similarities between Christmas time as a kid and now.

With all that is going on in prophecy and the coming November 28th high watch day, is our “Christmas present” from the Lord upon us? Like a kid who just cannot wait until Christmas morning, we cannot wait until we are taken out of this world to be with the Lord forever. Perhaps this time it is finally here!
