On this Christmas day 2020, I would like to express my thanks to Charles Shulz, the creator of the Peanuts cartoon strip and a fellow believer who has already gone home to be with the Lord.  Every time I hear Linus explain to Charlie Brown the true meaning of Christmas in that seasonal TV classic, "A Charlie Brown Christmas",  I am reminded of the first seed of the gospel planted in my heart as a young Jewish child.  Over 50 years later, I have now walked with Yehsua Ha Mashiach for more than 35 years.  I cannot help but believe Mr. Schulz will have a very substantive reward when he takes his turn at the Bema, and I for one would like to be there to shake his hand and thank him.

Merry Christmas brothers and sisters.  Maranatha!!!

Fair use for discussion

It’s chilling (in a good way) to hear the Gospel message spoke over network tv “airways”. It must send the demons running for cover, or at least bringing them great agony! Thank You, Lord, for Charles Schulz!

So glad to hear Watchman that this program was instrumental in you later getting saved!  I was happy to have grown up when we saw tv at its best ... with Christian value programs.

I fondly remember watching all the Peanuts holiday programs.  And how about those snack commercials?  It was either some delicious pastry from Dolly Madison Zingers or advertisements for Mounds/Almond Joy candy bars.  I would remind my mother that the Snoopy program will be on and we needed these treats while watching.   I’m not sure if Dolly Madison pastries were not available in our area or if she would only buy what was on sale because it was either a box of Drakes Ring Dings or Hostess Pink Snowballs. And other times a bag each of Mounds and Almond Joy candy bars (regular size).

Meanwhile my older siblings would hog the sofa and recliner chairs so I got stuck with being on the carpet with a big pillow. 🙁    I would crawl underneath the hot cocoa table and was the keeper of the box of Drakes ring dings or Hostess pink snowballs.  They would be begging for the pastry and wanted me to toss them their treat.  I said “nope, not until the commercial comes on!”   :mdrmdr:   Hey, I had to get even with them somehow. B-)

Wow this is great. I guess it was 5 or 6 years ago a Young child who lived in the main house I rented a room at gave me a Linus doll that when you squeeze  his foot says the meaning of Christmas. Its still and has been on the headboard of my bed year round ever since he gave it to me. He was like 6 years old and been in the main house from like 2 years old with his mother. She told me when he saw it he asked her to buy it for me. Its one of my possessions  that I will always love and keep close year round. I remember how I always watched : A Charlie  Brown Christmas:  from the 60s till today. It was so special then, no VHS, no CD, once a year was it back then. It was a highlight of Christmas to me then and still is. That young mans gift to me I would not trade for gold.  Thank you for this forum, so great to know this show made a difference in others lives like it did and still does in mine.

Love in Christ, your brother Blake

P.S. Thank you Charles Schulz , your blessing lives on in many hearts and hope it touches many more!
