:mdrmdr: Well, considering it might have been a wheat tree - enough said to convince me! Wheat is one of my mortal enemies now... and we all know a jelly donut is more than enough temptation! Thanks for the laugh Geri - I needed it today! :good:

"The End of the Garden of the Lord." So the idea here is that after Man's fall, God took pity on Eve because He couldn't let her into heaven and offered her a donut at "the end of the Garden of the Lord," as sort of a back-door consolation prize.

I thought the Lord never "leads us unto temptation"? I am therefore skeptical, and also craving a good jelly donut right now.

:mdrmdr:   Love the article! :good:   Well all this talk about jelly donuts ... I caved and yielded to temptation!  I went over to Dunkin Donuts and bought 6 jelly donuts ... It was more of a bargain to get 6 vs.  1 or 2.  I already ate 2 and I don’t have one ounce of  guilt.    I forgot to bring that free coffee gift card ... I want to use it on a coolatta ... I will just have to go another time.  Hee hee and then restock on more donuts. B-)

Having a powered, Lemon filled jelly donut, with angel food cake on the side and not getting sick will be so heavenly! Looking forward to a soon home going, it is ever so close! :prayer-hands:

Guys,

The length of this thread is a product of carnal minds. A mind that is still worldly, which focuses on materialism, a bloodlust for rank & positions, a craving for admiration as 'teachers & kings', etc.

If you are in Christ, you're already ruling & reigning with Him now! In this life. His is a spiritual kingdom.  “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” The lowly servant.

You teach people about the gospel now! Not in a fantasy 1000 years physical kingdom sitting on man-made thrones ruling over literal nations. Please.

Christ sacrifice IS enough. His shed blood on the cross was sufficient.

There is no longer a need to revert to animal sacrifices to wash away sins again!

You have to get this through your heads! Bulls, chickens, heifers, etc belong under the Mosaic Law, "pre-first coming".

The things that are being said in here, border on the blasphemous. You guys are in effect saying that Christ died in vain. That it wasn't enough. That we will have to bring back temple sacrifices.

Also, where can you find a 'Jew' from the tribe of Levi now???!!  Tell me!

Those who call themselves 'Jews' living in national Israel now, do not even know from which of the 12 tribes they originated from!

All records have been lost. Completely. 70 A.D. was the turning point. Everything was burnt.

The past 19 centuries have scattered them all over the world. Inter-marrying with gentiles, etc.

The on-going Aliyah has nothing to do with the 12 tribes coming home. Lineages are untraceable.

Guys, think!

Go read up on the works of Josephus the historian. Then Matt 24 will become crystal clear.

Don't lump Daniel & Matt 24 to a future tribulation.

The book of Daniel was written ¬620 years predicting the events of Matt 24.

The events of Matt 24 were then fulfilled within a generation ¬ 70 A.D.  Which was ¬2000 years ago.

Therefore, there's no longer any temple required for the future.

Christ rules from the heavenly Zion now. Not a future physical national Jerusalem.

Also, tenderreed,

There's no need to 'teach future folks about satan's tactics upon being released at the end of the 1000 years'.

Satan is already bound & on a leash right now, ever since Christ ascended. That is why, the gospel is being successfully preached now, & more are being added to the Kingdom daily.

Satan is prowling around like a lion now seeking to devour. The world we live in now is filled with his 'tactics' of deception. The temptations of wealth, status, power, sex, etc are ongoing.

Sheesh, Geri & tr. The things you sometimes say are unbelievable!

Disclaimer:

i'm not here to hit, hit, hit & whack, whack, whack. Get the core doctrines right, & the chronology of eschatology will fall in order. The teachings of John N. Darby has infiltrated the American church & is deep-rooted in the American Christian psyche.

TQ & God Bless!

I remember a rabbinical student in Israel discussing blood sacrifices. His thinking was that most of us sacrifice animals all the time to our carnal desires, every time we eat a big mac. The animal sacrifices support the levitical priesthood with food, provided the worshippers of God with food to share, and God was given the portions He specified, which according to His Grace mostly consisted of the portions humans don't do so well with.

That having been said, I wouldn't do so well on a farm. I remember visiting a farmer cousin, and enjoying several of the best tasting hamburgers I'd ever eaten when they said. "That was George. He got sick so we had to kill him. Eat as much as you want." Turned out I had eaten as much as I wanted already.

Thankfully it won't be our role in the Millennial Kingdom.

I thought that eating would be somewhat optional in glory?

So the idea of blood sacrifices to insure the priesthood eats seems a little incongruent to me?

Apparently the Levites lot doesn't seem to change much either?  With Christ as our ultimate sacrifice, why are blood sacrifices still required?  And will this end after the Millennial reign?

I can see animal sacrifices enraging the PETA folks,  vegetarians, and vegans to great hatred of Jews in Israel.  Can you imagine?

Food for thought :mdrmdr:

.... at the end of the 70 year captivity, Ezra started the ritual of sacrifice back in Jerusalem. On Dec 10, 2018, at the end of 70 years and Israel now has a capital in Jerusalem, they initiated the sacrificial rite again.

https://m.jpost.com/Israel-News/Temple-ready-altar-dedicated-on-last-day-of-Hanukkah-by-activist-groups-573980

Ezra then proceeded to rebuild the second temple; the temple institute has everything ready for the third temple - too bad it will be destroyed too. But the final a fourth temple - Christ will set up for the millennium :yahoo:
