This article by T. W. Tramm (just published) is excellent and a great encouragement. The concurrence of dates, feasts, eclipse, etc. is worth a look-see! Try: The author of that article takes the view that a 13th intercalary month should have been added to last year in order to push Passover further into the Spring time and thus placing Ascension day in June rather than May. I notice Barry Awe and some other watchers taking this point of view too but I'm not convinced that a 13th month was warranted. The purists say "Aviv barley was found at the end of the twelfth month coinciding with the crescent moon being observed on the evening of March 14th". That would make Nisan 1 occur on March 15th. Passover occurred on Nisan 14 which would have been March 28th (a Sunday). The 50 day count to Pentecost would have begun on the next Sunday, April 4th (day after the next weekly sabbath - see: https://www.lightedway.org/firstfruits.html ). That places Pentecost on May 23rd (always a Sunday). If may 23rd is day 50 then day 40 would be May 13th. If the 40th day was inclusive then He would have ascended on the 41st day then Ascension Day would be May 14th which I believe is most likely the correct reckoning.. The folks above are counting Nisan as starting after the spring equinox, the folks at the link below are counting Nisan from the assessment of barley that was in abib/aviv. They have ascension day and pentecost still in this month....the link below shows their calendar. Here's to hoping and watching, I am feeling ascension day but pentecost is good too!
