I don't know how WW3 plays into any of this but what a bad mix that would be. I think we will at least go through the birth pangs in Mathew 24. The events and world conditions Jesus mentions seem to be a time when they escalate in frequency and magnitude globally. "The end is not yet" and the beginning of sorrows... "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. IOW - Consider a time coming where there're 2 pandemics going on, food shortages everywhere, earthquakes going on one after another. Reports of war here and war there. Nation against nation means one ethnic/religious group against another. The 'beginning of sorrows' may be a key turning point.
