Wow Geri. I also thought that my witnessing days were over. I go out twice a week to various towns & cities in the Southwest of England with a handful of gospel tracts and engage people in conversations. I am of course really saddened that my ministry is now on hold but I am encouraged by your witness to Paul and the fact that God can still use me in ways that I have not even considered yet. There is an important reason that the church is still here : 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Geri's experience has prompted me to open a separate thread about evangelising, which although at the present time seems like a bad idea due to the social restrictions, I am nevertheless going to post it now because of its relationship to end times bible prophecy and the mounting fear out there. David Interesting pattern. Appears someone or Someone is "sick" of our elections... Yep, looks like there are a few stragglers out there we need to reach before the church door closes. Can you imagine how grateful that last sheep will feel in knowing the Great Shepherd was waiting patiently for his/her repentance prayer? I can just see it now, if we have assigned seats at the banquet feast, that person might be sitting right besides Jesus as He announces this was my last wayward sheep I was waiting for. Then all the teasing and jokes begin.... :calvin Good grief ... I just got this email from the local vet‘s office: Effective March 25, 2020: We are NOT allowing anyone in the building other than staff and clients here for EUTHANASIA. We are continuing to offer our concierge service for outpatient appointments, in patient drop off/pickup, medication pickup, and making payments (payments can also be made by phone). Please call ahead and we will make arrangements. When you arrive in the parking lot please call us and we will come out to you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this hard time. Going back a few posts, I agree that things will go back to normal, albeit a new normal. Humans are very adaptable and this current scenario will not be the undoing of mankind. Those who went through either of the World Wars would have said the same, "nothing will ever be the same", and they were right, thought their long term thinking was not. A new normal set in. Life will go back to normal here, too, and the godless will continue being godless. The Lord allows pestilence to draw HIS people back to Him. I think Donna's post was spot on. Those who profess to be Christians have become rather loose in their walk with the Lord and He is calling them back to Him. I'm sure there are other things that will come to fruition due to this crisis, but Donna's words speak very loudly. Good point ... a new normal way of living will set in when the dust finally settles. But in the meantime ... just a heads up ... if you do your taxes the old fashion way (paper snail trail), I’m advising to get them done ASAP and not wait until the extended IRS July deadline. Oh and the state and homestead tax forms are still due by April 15th (at least Vermont its still that way). I went to the post office on Monday to stock up on more stamps and asked the worker if the post office will be closing or shortening their hours ... she said no. Now I see this article ... the post office might close in June if this virus continues. If it does ... it will affect getting prescription drugs and the presidential election will be postponed as well. I’m hoping we are long gone before June. Regular mail service could be shut down as early as June, two US representatives said, and the effects could be disastrous. Critical supplies — like the more than 1 billion shipments of prescription drugs delivered by the Postal Service last year — could be stuck, mail voting in the November election could be stymied, and hundreds of thousands of postal employees could be out of work, Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Gerry Connolly said in a statement on Monday. "Based on a number of briefings and warnings this week about a critical fall-off in mail across the country, it has become clear that the Postal Service will not survive the summer without immediate help from Congress and the White House," Maloney and Connolly said. "Every community in America relies on the Postal Service to deliver vital goods and services, including life-saving medications. The Postal Service needs America's help, and we must answer this call." The duo also introduced a bill that would provide $25 billion in emergency funding for the Postal Service while eliminating the agency's debt and requiring it to prioritize medical deliveries. - Fair Use - —————- After mailing my tax forms I quickly headed over to the grocery store because I’m a sucker for drama. B-) Blue painters tape is marked all over the floors directing people where they need to stand. I joked with the guy at the courtesy desk behind the bullet proof glass barrier. I said looks like you’re ready for all out anarchy and the guns. He laughed and said “we are”. They even put the glass barriers around each of the cashier stations. As I walked thru the store, it was pitiful with the empty shelves almost in every aisle. The only thing well stocked now are the magazines and greeting cards. Nobody is buying those items and if the post office does shut down those cards will be of no use anyway. I got next to the last dish detergent, a box of dog treats (3 boxes were left) and then headed over to the deli to get some cold cuts. The blue lines were in place and signs everywhere “do not come any closer” and “do not touch the glass counter”. You had to shout out your order for the deli worker to hear you. I was wondering how they would give you the meat. When she finished ... I said are you going to throw it to me? She laughed and placed the items on the counter and then said I can come around this way ... stay within the blue lines. Hmmm ... will the Census 2020 Survey be used for this ... Seems "they" want us to get us to no personal contact of any kind. Social distancing (commies are calling for this to be more permanent), no physical contact with business = no immediate answers of fixes. A lot like online business do today, email only, no personal interactions. Social media (YT, Gaggle, Twit, FB, ect), where we have no personal contact and their decisions are LAW, even when illegal (unconstitutional). Some states (blue) are calling for arrests where people gather more than 10, even your own home. Commies are chastising POTUS for WANTING to reopen America by Easter. Just the idea of it has democrats and the wicked shaking their fingers. The news drugs curing Kung Flu has the very same people angry. Really appears they were wanting to keep "never let a good crisis go to waste", lock downs going indefinitely, using the virus as the means. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. Isaiah 26:20 Good grief ... more drama at the Grocery store in town. Its been a few days since I last stopped in. All last week I was tied up with a car dealership trying to get my suv inspected and new tires put on so my shopping was at other stores. Well, the new rule being enforced now at this local grocery store is ... all the aisles are one way and marked with blue tape arrows. If you dare back up your shopping cart to reach for an item you accidentally missed or go down the wrong way in an aisle ... some store workers will embarrass you by screaming you need to follow the blue arrows at all times. While checking out this wacko cashier stopped what he was doing, left his post and walked over to this poor lady who was clueless of their new rules. She had her cart in the main aisle and abandoned her cart and walked down the wrong way to reach for an item and he went into a rage and scolded her. I would hate to see him in action as a REAL cop. The way this is leading I’m expecting indoor traffic signals next. Oh and they have a sign on their doors saying they ARE open on Easter - just shorter hours that day. At Walmart on Saturday, they said they have now implemented a new policy across the nation. You have to line up before the store opens, with X's 6 feet apart. Then, when the door opens, they can let in, as I understood it, up to 5 people per 1,000 square feet of the store. Once they hit the limit of store capacity (which fortunately for me we did not since I shop at a large store that is more rural), no one else can enter until someone else leaves the store. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. If you enter the store prematurely, some dude pulls the Lay's potato chip reject lever, you drop about 20 feet, and they recycle you back to the end of the line. Ok, so all but the last two sentences of this post are true. LOL.
