How did I know? You see that little camera on your computer? :mdrmdr: just kidding ?

I have always been fascinated with hidden doors and secret rooms. When I was a kid we had just moved to Georgia (1971) for the first time and we had a full basement that was ready to be framed out but wasn’t so there was all of this room to play. All of the empty moving boxes were down there so I made a secret fort out of them complete with a maze entrance. My buddy would come over and bring his cassette recorder, which was so cool, and we’d listen to the Partridge Family Sound Magazine cassette he had that had just been released. My mom would come downstairs looking for me but couldn’t ever find me until the day she heard the music coming from that huge pile of boxes. ? I’ve been fascinated with that sort of thing ever since.

:mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:  - iPad — but yes and I have camera covers for ALL my devices, not that they still can’t see you — Apple has their ways :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:

Yes, I have always wanted a secret room too — this “Tornado room” (called that because it has no windows) is a nice size space (about 8 x 10) will be large enough to hold a “few” prep supplies, plus we have plans to place fold out wall bunk beds (cot size), we have everything running to this room, water, electric, temp control, only have the portable lue though. We even have “pull-out” storage under the crawl space of the house for extra “stuff” - it is a nice size and undetectable from outside. Way cool! Excited to complete this, if we have time. The Murphy door goes on order next week as it takes about 4 weeks to get here….. our workers know it as a storage room for tornado protection but they will never see the finished product :mdrmdr: :calvin :mdrmdr:

That sounds so cool! Post pics when it’s finished.

There is a small hallway in my basement I want to close in but the breaker boxes are located there. If I get around to it I’ll have them moved to the other side of the wall and then enclose that room. That Murphy door would be perfect!

I will but it will be at least 4 weeks or more —— I am praying the Lord helps speed this up, not just because I am tired of freezing and living in a camper (I am truly thankful or else it would be in some apartment somewhere with both a mortgage, rent, and construction costs :calvin ), but because i feel an urgency to get this done for someone????? :yahoo: :prayer-hands:

You should so do that; My breaker box will be in this room — it is an advantage actually, just a thought for you!  :mail:

That will be great fun to close off the room and put a secret door in. I love wood working and am pretty sure I can move the breaker boxes without electrocuting myself. On second thought, probably best to hire an electrician for that part ?

So yeah — that is a no — electrical shocks of significant voltage can disrupt the cardiac rhythm and that may mean a bad day … check out this nut …

Beautiful Donna and the Pacific side is truly great, really nicer beaches sand wise and having lived in HI the pacific seems to bring warmer temps more often — but I too feel blessed (when it is not the once in 8 years snow storm) to live on the Atlantic side.
