It's one of the oldest tricks in the book. (The external enemy.) When your nation or organization is not doing well they will try to take the heat off themselves by getting people to focus on an external enemy. For example, in the Middle East, Israel has been the external enemy that allows many corrupt Muslim governments to keep their populaces distracted. Whenever anything goes wrong (corruption, inflation, unemployment, etc ) they simply blame Israel. The people seem to fall for it every time. 🙁 Argentina also picked a fight with the UK over the Falkland islands in order to distract the restive populace from a corrupt and incompetent government. It appealed to their nationalism and worked until Argentina got decisively defeated. So, this Ukrainian affair could be a way to distract the American people from the rather large domestic problems. (Inflation, failing economy, illegal mandates, electoral corruption, etc.) Perplexity galore! Maybe if I just stop trying to fir all the puzzle pieces together...
