I’ve learned to curb the habit of buying just “because they are on sale”. If you saw my collection of shoes/flip flops alone, you would understand I really don’t need to buy any more ... many ... um ... still have the price tags on them. :scratch: But I’m no where near as bad as Imelda Marcos’ collection. B-) Close though ... just kidding/just kidding. My collection of footwear accumulated quickly when I saw a style that was “on-sale” ... I bought a few at once in various colors. The same habit went with clothing and winter coats ... but remember “they were on sale” that you couldn’t say no to. Disclaimer ... I got a confession I forgot about this incident ... 4 weeks ago I was in Walgreens and I just happened to be in the aisle of the summer bargains reduced 75% off ! I saw a pair of white thick foam flip flops marked down to just .... 59 cents! I ... caved .... and bought them - they are great when walking my dog in the rain ... that way I don’t ruin my leather ones. :whistle: This will blow your socks off, but I’m not a shopper either and don’t like shopping for clothes or shoes, but love going to hardware stores and sporting goods —- nope, my husband can attest to the fact that I am all female to the core (no genetic changes here :mdrmdr: ) - if it’s a DIY project, I’m all in ... :mdrmdr: you have now entered the twilight zone.... :yahoo: :mdrmdr: Geri, you find the coolest sales — not that I go for shoes ... I broke down 3 weeks ago and bought a new pair of tennis shoes and slip on sketchers, but only because both the pairs I was replacing had obvious holes in them (so sad to throw such comfy shoes away) LOL ... I hear ya Tammie. I can relate with wanting to spend on your grandkids. Its fun to shop for their outfits and toys. I used to enjoy doing that for my nieces that lived near by. I now splurge on my fur baby. Early on I was really into buying him sweaters and coats and was tempted to do the boot/shoe collection but he’s one tough cookie and doesn’t like to wear a coat and can endure the frigid weather so I backed out of the footwear for him. He will look at me and show his chattering teeth and I will say to him ... you think I enjoy standing out here in the cold? The fastest you go then we can go back inside. I don’t know what it is with male dogs ... they got to sniff and find just the right place to go to claim/mark their territory. I do spoil him with treats and costly dog food and yet he always wants what I’m eating and sometimes he can’t have that and he gives me that dirty look like I’m being unfair. LOL. Oh its going to be fun in heaven/or on the restored earth when they talk again. Will be interesting to see what happens with Sudan. Perhaps when the Rapture happens and they see the USA greatly weakened, they will join in the Gog Magog War as Ezekiel 38 says. Perhaps they have a secret deal with Turkey to backstab Israel? As a matter of fact, it’s probably been about a year since I bought shoes or clothes up until that purchase three weeks ago.
