Amy, is this unprecedented or do we just not pay close enough attention? Recently? That's not out of the ordinary... it is not that bad every day, but we have a lot of days that bad. However, 18 years ago when I started working as an aviation meteorologist it was rare to deal with more than a few volcanoes a year and now we are dealing with several a day!
