Finland May Join NATO Quickly, No Referendum:

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has opened Finland's eyes to the urgent need to join NATO quickly this spring, without a referendum, according to Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Saturday.

"Russia is not the neighbor we thought it was," Marin told Social Democratic Party (SDP) delegates in Helsinki, according to Finnish broadcasting company YLE, urging Finland to decide to seek NATO membership "thoroughly but quickly" this spring.

Russia's Vladimir Putin has warned of Finland and Sweden entering NATO, but the invasion of Ukraine ultimately might put Finland's sovereignty at risk anyway.

Gas in Germany, flour in Greece, sunflower oil in Spain: European countries take steps towards rationing as the war in Ukraine adds to the global supply crunch:

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has threatened the supply of critical commodities in Europe and thrown global supply chains, which were already struggling amid COVID-19, into complete chaos.

As a result, the prices of everything from wheat to oil have soared, leading to multi-decade high inflation rates in places like Germany and Spain. The supply crunch in Europe is now so bad it’s causing governments to begin laying the groundwork for rationing, with some stores already limiting supplies.

The German government took the first formal steps toward rationing its natural gas supplies this week as it attempts to wean itself off a decades-long reliance on Russian energy. And in Spain and Greece, supermarkets are rationing food including flour, milk, and sunflower oil.

While current European rationing has largely been preventative, as governments and businesses hope to limit the risk of panic buying and further shortages, Europeans are facing a volatile environment ahead as geopolitical tensions persist and COVID-19 lockdowns continue abroad.

Russian Propaganda: Ukraine May Be Conducting Bio War with US Toxic Mosquito Drones?:

Kirillov pointed out that the US government had granted patents to drone systems capable of delivering bioweapons attacks, such as the “Toxic Mosquito” aerial release system, patented on March 3, 2015.

The patent notes that military use is currently illegal. However, such military use is overtly implied by the patent:  “Throughout military history, the health of one’s troops has always been an important determining factor. Soldiers on the ground can only properly function if they are not ill, sick, or dying from a deadly virus or pathogen. A soldier, whose immune system is trying to fight a bug or pathogen, will have no energy or ability to fight other soldiers. Sickness can be a very valuable military tool that can be more devastating than the most up-to-date military guns and equipment. Since making the enemy troops sick is an important military objective, one must then look at what means are available to get the pathogens, germs, and viruses to the enemy.”

Under “Advantageous Effects of Invention”, the patent notes that “enemy troops can now be wiped out or rendered useless without having to risk or endanger our own troops. The toxic mosquito aerial release system is extremely low cost and can easily accomplish what a billion dollars in medical interventions and airstrikes cannot do.  The mosquitoes in the toxic mosquito aerial release system can be contaminated with various types of genetically altered bacteria to activate the immune system, or contaminated with toxic sickness agents depending on the objectives.

For military purposes, the mosquitoes may be used to deliver an agent such as malaria to create sickness, or they could use much more toxic or highly contagious agents and viruses. A highly contagious virus could wipe out 100% of the enemy troops because the ones that did not get bitten will be contaminated by their fellow soldiers.  The toxic mosquito aerial release system is a new and needed technology.

Russia is now calling for an international inquiry into the US-Ukraine bioresearch program.

Zelensky: Post-war Ukraine Will Be Like Israel, Won’t Be ‘Liberal, European’:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday post-war Ukraine will likely be modeled as a “big Israel” in terms of security with self-protection, and will no longer be a “liberal European” city.

“Ukraine will definitely not be what we wanted it to be from the beginning. It is impossible. Absolutely liberal, European – it will not be like that. It [Ukraine] will definitely come from the strength of every house, every building, every person,” Zelensky said at a press briefing.

Israel has “always been a role model for Ukraine, at least in terms of security and self-protection,” Brodskyuch told the Haaretz daily.  “Israelis have lived surrounded by enemies for all of their history and Ukraine will be doing the same,” Korniychuk said.

Haaretz cited Zelensky as saying that Israel is “often an example for Ukraine” and that “both Ukrainians and Jews value freedom,” working “equally for the future of our states to become to our liking, and not the future which others want for us.”

“We know what it’s like not to have [one’s] own state,” Zelensky, who is Jewish, told the Kyiv Jewish Forum. “We know what it means to defend one’s own state and land with weapons in hand, at the cost of [their] own lives.”
