I can’t believe I’m saying this … Heidi,  you better make that coffee date ASAP!!!  Or better yet ,,, make it a tea date!  B-)   So we can       away!!!

Your incident Heidi brings up something that happened to me back in May 2011 … after visiting my mom the night before she died I called up my pastor and left a detailed message on his cell phone about my mom doesn’t have long to live and mentioned if he wants to visit to do so tonight and I felt compelled to say I’m so glad she is saved and trusted Jesus as her personal Savior and went into detail of her favorite Scripture verses on how she got saved, etc. and will arrive in heaven soon.  Then … after finishing up the call I left my cell phone in my bedroom and I went to get something to eat and then when I returned to my bedroom  I picked up my cell phone and I got a message … it wasn’t from my pastor though but a stranger saying he received that voice mail message and had to notify me that it didn’t reach the intended party … he was intrigued with the message of knowing you can have assurance of heaven and his parting line was he is sorry for what happened to my mom.  Here’s the thing … I looked at the number I dialed out and it was my pastor’s cell phone number!  I didn’t dial it incorrectly but yet a stranger got the message!   There was no way to call that stranger back because his cell phone number was not listed … so I couldn’t read the incoming phone number.  Meanwhile I know my pastor did receive my cell phone message and  he went to visit her that night because when we were arranging  for her memorial service he came to visit and I said I tried to call you to visit her the night before but somehow the call went to some other guy instead … but here’s the thing .. he said he did get my call and did visit her!   So the Lord does work in mysterious ways across the phone lines and text messages, emails to reach the lost.

Heidi, yes, if we all knew your address we would all show up - to give you support and help you witness to your colleague!  Seriously however, this might be an open door provided by the Lord to break the ice and open a door to a good conversation - even if it does not immediately lead to their salvation it will at bare minimum build a bridge of understanding between you and them and plant a seed in their heart that the Lord will watch over.

Don’t be afraid of an awkward conversation, just be respectful to this individual and acknowledge that they probably don’t believe the way that you do, but tell them what you believe and why you have that hope within you and then leave it in the Lord’s hands to do the rest.  Your testimony, the Word of God written on your heart  may be the only “Bible they ever read”. His Spirit will speak through you since I am convinced He Himself orchestrated this open door for you.  What you thought was a mistake could be used mightily by Jesus :good:

We will all be praying for you!

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭3:15‬

Derrick, that's so sweet. How nice if you all show up at my place to give me support. I like that idea.

Thank you for the advice.

My colleague is busy this weekend, will let you know when we get together.

May I ask that you pray for another Muslim?

A great Muslim comedian is now maybe in his 80s and I just watched an interview that was very emotional.

He was saying that maybe  God will send him to hell, but he thinks his good works have been more than his bad so he might go to heaven. He said I don't want any fairies in heaven. I just want my mother and father. He also sang a very beautiful song for his mother.

the lady who was interviewing him got so emotional, she got up and kissed him on the forehead.

Please pray for his salvation, for the salvation of his family and loved ones and for the lady who was interviewing him.
