Romero said he is a former police officer and has two sons who are also cops. In an interview with the Washington Examiner, LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said he plans to sue the Board of Supervisors to keep the men’s jail open. Villanueva stated: “They don’t have the legal authority to do this. They think by removing the budget from us that we will be forced to close the jail."
