Poll: Americans’ Trust in Public Education Reaches 2nd All-Time Low: American satisfaction with the country’s K-12 education system has reached its second all-time low, according to a Gallup poll. Only 42 percent of Americans say they are satisfied with the system, which is the lowest number in two decades and the second-lowest rating in Gallup’s tracking of the question. Among primary drivers for concern among Americans, “academic vigor” regarding curriculum and teaching methods rates the highest. With a total of 56 percent responding with related concerns, 15 percent of respondents take issue with a “poor or outdated curriculum,” while 12 percent are concerned with the U.S. being behind other countries academically. Eleven percent cited a “failure to teach the basics." Twenty-three percent of respondents were concerned with a lack of resources. Eight percent cited “unequal access to quality education for low-income students or due to racism.” School funding, low teacher pay, a lack of quality teachers, understaffing, and overcrowding were also cited as concerns. Concern about political agendas tainting education was the next highest concern at 17 percent. Ten percent said they believed “political agendas” were being pushed at schools, while four percent were concerned with gender ideology, and three percent cited critical race theory. Strong majority of adults in the US believe there should be maximum age limits for elected figures: Adults in America on both sides of the political aisle and across various age ranges largely agree that there should be age limits blocking older people from occupying elected office. A recently conducted CBS News/YouGov survey of adults in the U.S. found that a whopping 73% thought there should be age limits, while 27% did not. Among the individuals who favored the idea of an age limit, 40% thought that 70 should be the maximum age limit, while 26% thought it should be 60 years old, and 18% thought it should be 80. Last year when President Joe Biden was sworn in at the age of 78 years old, he made history by becoming the oldest person ever to serve as president. Biden has said that he plans to seek reelection as long as he is healthy — if he were to mount a successful 2024 reelection bid, he would be 86 years old by the end of his second term. While Biden will turn 80 later this year in November, there are some sitting members of Congress who are already well into their eighties. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who is currently 88 and will turn 89 later this month, is running for another six-year term during the 2022 election cycle. At the age of 89, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) is the oldest lawmaker currently serving in the U.S. Senate. https://www.theblaze.com/news/americans-agree-age-limit-politicians North Korea: Christians arrested, martyred in secret worship gathering: We have received urgent news through our contacts that there has been a massive sweep against underground Christians in North Korea. As is often the case in North Korea, the families of the North Korean believers will suffer as well. Our contact says that their families—exceeding 100 people—were also arrested and have been sent to political prison—where the inhumane conditions have been reported to be worse than those of the notorious Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. Inmates are treated as animals, tortured, and forced to do harsh labor with little food. In North Korea, it is illegal to worship Jesus or have a Bible. For the last three decades, believers have been known and treated as “the hostile class.” Anything that gives people an alternative allegiance to the ruling Kim dynasty is deemed to be dangerous to the state. Christians must hide their faith, even from their own children. As a result, coming together to worship Jesus is a death warrant. And yet, as this report indicates, secret Christians are risking their lives to be part of a church or own a Bible. They’re facing death to worship Jesus, knowing that their only hope is in Him. The words of North Korean believer and ex-prisoner Hae-Woo encourage us to pray with these families recently imprisoned and for all secret believers in North Korea. She now lives in South Korea. “While I was in prison, I could not understand everything, but I felt the Christians in different countries praying for us who were imprisoned,’ she says. “It provided comfort, and it became a source of energy for us. Even if we cannot meet each other, let us communicate through the Spirit, in Jesus Christ." North Korea codifies the right to preemptive nuclear attack: North Korea’s leadership passed a law this week granting the country the right to launch preemptive nuclear strikes. The law authorizes the North Korean military to use nuclear weapons “automatically and immediately” in case of an imminent attack against its leadership or “important strategic objects,” reports The Washington Post. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said this law also makes his country’s nuclear status “irreversible” and bars any talks of denuclearization. This news comes in the wake of reports that Russia has been buying weapons from North Korea to help fuel its invasion of Ukraine. North Korea conducted its first nuclear test in 2006, and now has the capability of delivering warheads to the U.S. mainland, notes The Washington Post. South Korean and U.S. officials believe that North Korea could soon resume nuclear tests for the first time since 2017. https://www.theblaze.com/news/north-korea-codifies-right-to-preemptive-nuclear-attack From Amir Tsarfati: Reports of fierce fighting that broke out in the last hour on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Stocks log worst day since 2020: U.S. stocks nosedived Tuesday after a surprising inflation report showed prices rose more than expected last month. The S&P 500 sank 4.3%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average erased more than 1,275 points, or roughly 4%. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/stock-market-news-live-updates-september-13-2022-090235060.html Joe Biden Plans Celebration of “Inflation Reduction Act” then Inflation Rate Comes in Hotter than Expected at 8.3% Annual Rate — Markets Crash: The August inflation rate came in this morning hotter than expected at 8.3%. New study shows Philly 'soda tax' completely backfired, resulted in more purchases of sugar-loaded goods: It turns out that "soda taxes" — municipal regulations that jack up the prices of sugary drinks — do not deter consumers from gobbling up unhealthy levels of refined sugars. A new study, in fact, shows the tax failed to reduce sugar consumption at all. The tax did not stop Philadelphians from consuming sugary beverages, and avoiding the tax became as easy as leaving the city limits. Not only did the tax fail to reduce consumption of sugary drinks, but the study even found that the tax backfired in the sense that it drove an increase in purchases of unhealthy sugar-loaded snacks. Perhaps sales are up because the city water is awful in Philly and the average person prefers soda as the “healthy” alternative? Someone posted this … Per TheNaturalPulse Human Urine is Being Mooted (should say "touted") as a Fertilizer Alternative For Your Food. 😳 The time of Jacobs Trouble is going to be DESOLATE - Fair Use - sooooo thankful Jesus is taking His church home prior to hell on earth. :amen: Rail Union Rejects Deal to Prevent Strike Planned For This Friday, September 16th: The Gateway Pundit reported this week about an impending major freight railroad strike set for Friday, September 16th. A strike would be devastating to the US supply chain and an already fragile Biden economy. America’s freight railroads cover a nearly 140,000-mile network across 49 states. A strike would shut down 7,000 Class I trains per day as well as disrupt passenger and commuter trains. Freight trains transport nearly every sector of our economy including agricultural, industrial, wholesale, retail, and resource-based sectors. A strike would cost the US economy more than $2 billion a day and disrupt deliveries of all kinds of goods and passenger traffic nationwide.
While we can’t disclose the region’s name for security reasons, we can report that security guards broke into a place where several dozen Christians were gathered for a secret worship meeting. The guards arrested all of them and then executed every secret believer in the room.
