Dominion voting machine used in 2020 election goes missing from Michigan, an Ohio Uber driver buys it for $8 at Goodwill:

A Michigan voting machine recently went missing. Shockingly enough, an Uber driver from Ohio was able to purchase the Dominion voting machine from a Goodwill store for a mere $8. Now, Michigan officials are investigating how the voting machine used in the 2020 presidential election was able to be sold online.

He was able to sell the voting machine for $1,200 to Harri Hursti from Connecticut. CNN describes Hursti as "one of the foremost election machine security experts and organizes an event every August in Las Vegas where hackers are given access to voting machines in a bid to identify and remedy potential vulnerabilities."

After receiving the voting machine last week, Hursti reportedly notified the Michigan secretary of state's office.

"He says he was instructed not to open the box the machine came in, to preserve it for law enforcement who may need to wipe it for fingerprints," CNN reported.  The jurisdiction has now reported the device to law enforcement as stolen."

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson – who oversees elections held in the state – claimed that the missing voting machine being sold online does not necessarily mean that there is a lapse in voting security.

Up to 17 States on the Hook for California’s Ban on Gas-powered Cars:

Seventeen states may be required to follow California’s mandate to ban the sales of almost all gasoline-powered cars by 2035 and to require the purchase of electric vehicles — even though some states are already struggling to meet current electricity demand.

In 2020, just weeks after California suffered rolling blackouts due partly to a lack of energy from renewable sources, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced that he would force drivers to move to electric vehicles and ban gas-powered car sales as of 2035.

Several of the 17 states are likely to move forward with the plan, including Washington, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon and Vermont. California’s restrictions are the strictest in the country, mandating that all new vehicles run on either electricity or hydrogen by 2035.

The mandate is facing fierce pushback in states like Minnesota, where the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association argues the weather prohibits the use of solely electric vehicles. . . Colorado is also among the states where the measure faces firm opposition.

California is currently asking residents not to charge electric vehicles between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. due to another energy shortage in the midst of a statewide heat wave, prompting growing public skepticism of Newsom’s electric vehicle mandate.

As Europe Implodes, It Plans "Radical Intervention" Including Price-Setting, Suspending Derivatives Markets, and Europe-Wide Margin Call Bailouts:

Just when you thought the narrative couldn't get any more idiotic, Europe shocks just about everyone.

A few days after the EU threatened commodity traders that it would stage an "emergency intervention" to crush energy prices which were rising at a pace of about 20% per day. . . a move which actually worked for a few days until Putin reminded Europe who's boss late on Friday when Gazprom suddenly decided it would "completely halt" all Nord Stream 1 transit altogether due to an "oil leak", with the news sending global stock markets plunging.  . . . late on Sunday Bloomberg reported that European ministers will discuss "special measures to rein in soaring energy costs - from gas-price caps to a suspension of power derivatives trading - as the bloc scrambles to respond to latest developments in the deepening crisis."

So what can Europe do? Nothing really, but it will pretend to be in control until the bitter end.

Zombie Media Cartel Bill Back and Worse Than Ever: Would Strengthen Legacy Media, Punish Anti-Establishment Outlets:

A new version of the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act (JCPA) is circulating that is worse than the original. It allows mainstream, legacy, and left-wing media to form exclusionary media cartels and then empowers them with extraordinary collective-bargaining power to collude with Big Tech companies. The amendments serve only to spell out in greater specificity how to exclude conservative and anti-establishment media from any alleged benefits.

Specifically, the new JCPA contains a provision that allows “eligible” media companies forming a cartel to “create admission criteria for membership unrelated to the size of an eligible digital journalism provider or the views expressed by its content, including criteria to limit membership to only eligible publishers or only eligible broadcasters.”

These self-appointed mainstream and left-wing media cartels ARE allowed to exclude based on the usual, totally subjective, factors they always do, such as: “trustworthiness,” “fake news, “extremism,” “misinformation,” “hate speech,” “conspiracy,” “correction policy,” “expertise,” “authoritativeness,” etc.

Despite widespread opposition, lobbyists have brought the JCPA back again, with amendments that should leave the public in no doubt that this is a bailout for the legacy media.

China Takes Over the Solomon Islands — And the Pacific:

China, after years of persistent commercial, diplomatic, and military efforts, is taking over the Pacific.
Beijing is moving from island group to island group, and soon the People's Liberation Army will be in striking distance of Hawaii.

The five-year deal, subject to automatic renewals, will allow Beijing to use the islands to base its military and to do pretty much what the Chinese military wants.  If implemented to its full extent, the Framework Agreement will give China the ability to sever shipping lanes and air links connecting the U.S. with its treaty ally Australia and partner New Zealand.

For decades, Washington allowed Canberra and Wellington to manage the Solomons and its region.... Beijing, through payoffs now detailed in public, essentially owns Sogavare's government.
There is now talk that China will ink a security agreement with Papua New Guinea, just north of Australia.

California Governor Gavin Newsom Signs Fast-Food Worker Bill, Paving the Path to $22 an Hour Minimum Wage:  $20 fast-food burger incoming…

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) on Monday signed a new fast-food bill that will pave the path for $22 an hour minimum wage.

CBS News reported:  California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday signed a nation-leading measure giving more than a half-million fast food workers more power and protections, despite the objections of restaurant owners who warned it would drive up consumers’ costs.

The law caps minimum wage increases for fast-food workers at chains with more than 100 restaurants at $22 an hour next year, compared to the statewide minimum of $15.50 an hour, with cost-of-living increases thereafter.

Restaurant owners and franchisers cited an analysis they commissioned by the UC Riverside Center for Economic Forecast and Development saying that the legislation would increase consumer costs.

$22/hr to serve sub par food with an attitude. Hmmmm, think I'll stay home. We've all see how the fast food industry has responded in the past few years to these wage increases. They have eliminated half of their work force and replaced them with automated kiosks. And with this pay increase one would think that the service and cleanliness would improve but what I have seen is quite the opposite. The restaurants are much messier and the attitudes of the workers has not gotten better. What was once a convenience is now something to be avoided.

China is building a robot army – here’s the video (at the link):

The Chinese technology company Unitree Robotics is producing dozens of menacing four-legged robot dogs, according to a video showing the robots moving in unison.

The dog-like robot also has a number of “special movements,” including fast running, backwards running, side-to-side movement, creeping forward, rollover, jumping, backflip, obstacle crossing, obstacle avoidance, and more.

Additionally, Aliengo can detect human posture and has facial recognition.
