Yeah, but for old guys like you and me we just go to the store and buy a bag for the trick or treaters and just leave the porch light OFF! :mdrmdr:

Oh I can’t imagine not liking chocolate!   I did know someone who was allergic to chocolate and it was hard for him to watch everyone else eating it.

What non chocolate candy is left … licorice, smarties, paydays, lollipops, starbursts, good n plenty, taffy, small box of raisins, candy corn?   I’m sure you LOVED his stash of chocolates!!! :mdrmdr:

So was your grandson’s candy pile like this? :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:

I stopped trick or treating from 5th grade on because I had a paper route … 200 customers and then narrowed it down to 150 because collecting took over 2 hrs on a Saturday.  I kept the really nice customers and they were so generous. Their mailboxes were up to their front door and that is where I would place their newspaper vs. throwing it on the lawn or in the driveway.  So they were ready for anybody approaching their doorstep. I didn’t even have to wear a costume they had the tray or bucket of REAL size candy bars (no fun sizes) and they wanted me to take 2 and sometimes 3 bars.    I said to this one lady I don’t even have a bag to put these in. She said hold on … then she came back from her kitchen with a brown paper shopping bag with handles. LOL. I had to walk back home to dump the bag it was so heavy and then go back out to deliver to the rest of the customers.

My dad would say every night without fail … ok gimme what you got … hand over the chocolates!  So I gave him the ones I didn’t like (3 musketeers, any chocolate without the nuts, etc). :mdrmdr:     I kept my candy in a long cardboard box underneath my bed.  My supply lasted almost till Christmas time.

This year you wonder what people are going to do since times are tough  … will they resort to doing this ….

And will kids be confused going to the wrong places   … :mdrmdr:

Or will kids resort to sending their dogs out in their place begging for candy?

I don't think I've posted anything on these threads yet and I can't believe there's 5 of them already lol

But anyway I bought some beautiful looking brownies yesterday and thought I'd take a picture and post it before I eat them all.

I usually like to put 1 in the microwave for about 15 seconds before I put some vanilla ice cream on top and eat them : )

“Speed it up!”  :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:     Love the colorized version.

And “Leaving Soon”  those brownies look yummo … and warming them up/putting ice cream on top! :good:   So glad you decided to post on this sweet thread.    Ok …. how about “fruitcake”?   For some reason not to many here want to be part of the millennium “Soirée Fruitcake dessert club”     Just trying to recruit :mail:  more to join in on the parties.  B-)

The irony is … this cake is considered a Roman soldier “survival cake”  and in the midst of this pandemic and with the stores running out of food … the other day I noticed in this one local store they have the candied fruit in the plastic containers stacked up.   I’m seriously thinking on buying some to make a cake since it will take years before it goes bad.

And those that are not a fan of fruitcake … can you just see it now … they maybe forced to eat it to survive this winter and perhaps they will learn to like it?  B-)  Or perhaps not. :mdrmdr:
