I’m REALLY enjoying the letters posted for this week! :good: Especially this one about Passover ... I didn’t realize we have 2 Passovers to be on alert for ... this Wednesday and Thursday ... and if still here ... May 7th - 8th! Marking my calendar. :mail: Passover and the Coming of Elijah (2020?!) By Denis Hart And by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was (Israel) preserved (Hosea 12:13 Amplified) While I do not consider myself an expert on the Feasts of the Lord, two things seem clear. First, Passover is the foundation for all of the other Feasts - all other Feasts are sequels to this celebration of the Passover Lamb (symbolic of the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world for our sins). Secondly, Passover signals the Coming of Elijah the Prophet. A fifth cup is placed on the table for Elijah as part of the Seder celebration, an empty chair is there for Elijah and the Door is opened to see if Elijah has come!! Malachi 4 verse 5 prophesies that Elijah the Prophet will come before (and probably just before) the Day of the Lord. Passover 2020 is on the night/day of Wednesday 8 and Thursday /9 April 2020. There probably has never been a year of higher expectation of Elijah's Coming than this year 2020!! The world has not been changed, turned upside down so quickly, as in 2020 by the health, social and economic upheavals of the Corona Virus!! Two other aspects of Passover 2020 should be noted. First, there is a Second Passover that is celebrated on 7 and 8 May 2020. There was clearly only one actual Passover and this was to help those who were, for some reason, not able to celebrate Passover in a given year. Secondly, Passover 2020 is just before Easter (starting on Good Friday 10 April 2020). Some of the most important prophetic words about the end-time Elijah were spoken by Jesus: Elijah comes first and will restore all things!!! Opening the Door for Elijah has a parallel with One Greater than Elijah, as we see in Revelation 3 v 20 (NKJV), especially relevant this year as we self isolate within our homes in this Covid 19 Passover season. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. - Fair Use -
