I was going to post this on the "Frugal" thread by Kolleen. However, I did not want to offend by joking on a serious thread or hijack it. There is a famous French novel called: l'avare de moliere (the miser of Moliere - Moliere being the writer) He is a very stingy guy. Here is some advice on how to save money from him: Fight/start arguments with people before Christmas time so you have an excuse not to buy them Christmas gifts. Bow your head down, close your eyes and pretend you are in serious prayer at church when the collection guy reaches you. Hang a big poster in the dining room which says: "Nous ne vivons pas pour manger, nous mangeons pour vivre" which will be a good visible reminder for your guests. To translate that to English: "we do not live to eat, we eat to live". And you can serve their dinner cold. They won't ask for seconds. :yes: 500 pound bear stealing candy from Gas Station I was thinking what a good promotion that would be for Snickers and Musketeers.
