Most of us understand that the internet tracks where we go in cyber space. Ads are fashioned around that. (This is why I do searches on my buddy's computer for things like Denture Grip, Depends, Preparation-H, and assisted living centers Lol). Well, apparently the web bots caught me on a Jewish website because now I'm getting ads for Kippahs! They are quite lovely, too!

Yohanan- that’s too funny and true! Gone are the days of anonymity, Watson, Alexa, or Siri are watching, listening, and gathering data.

I too have been amazed at what “ads” pop up on my iPad. Because I research so much regarding Jewish wedding, bridal seasons and calendars, I now get ads for trips to Israel, holding an Israeli wedding, wedding garments, oh and calendars of various kinds. :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:

Do you remember that saying “Big brother is watching” —- right! :prayer-hands:

LOL ... well brace yourself because the next level of headgear they will be enticing you with ... will be the debonair furry shtreimel with curly long locks ... how can you resists!!!!

Update

Well they closed the town library until further notice “because they REALLY care about our health”.  I was going to use their computer to complete that 2020 census.  Oh well.

Then I headed back over to the grocery store.  I’m practically there everyday now with the excitement of wondering what has been restocked ... its almost like Christmas everyday ... yeah, very pitiful.   Finally found a package (8 rolls) of toilet paper :yahoo:  Sadly though its not the brand I like - Scotts brand is far too scratchy but hey, beggars can’t be choosy.  Guess what aisle they stocked a few cases of them in?  Not in the paper aisle where the shelves are still bare.  Nope, I “accidentally” found them on the floor in the frozen food aisle in front of the Jimmy Dean Sausage patties and gourmet frozen hamburgers.   Makes sense, makes perfect sense ... oh and the sign now says  1 package per customer ... before it was 2 packages of paper products per customer.    I guess they want to say they at least had a supply on hand for half a day. B-)

Tammie, that is really cool though with advertisements on Israeli vacations hot spots.  Have you’ve been to Israel yet?  If not, just think 7 yrs from now we will all be there in person!

I don’t get it ... I google a lot of things to read and what I buy mostly on Amazon is dog food and dog treats and yet the only annoying solicitation I keep getting hounded with is coffee offers and on-line dating websites.  I don’t see the connection.

Yohanan,  I’m almost tempted to test this theory out ... perhaps my next Amazon order I should purchase a small bag of cat food and cat treats even though I don’t have a cat (I can give to my neighbor 2 units away) and perhaps I will reverse the curse ... and I will see delicious tea offers and on-line marriage counseling services and/or a list of divorce lawyers in my area?

Oh and I saw some hilarious people at the store.  One guy was an older man (looked like in his early 80’s) he was walking around with a facial mask and had goofy swimming goggles on and he was pushing a shopping cart ... I kid you not all that was in his cart were like 20 something bottles of wine!  Here he is afraid of catching and dying from the virus and I would think he should be more concerned about his liver conking out on him!

Then while standing in the check out line ... the guy behind me was making everyone laugh as we waited.  He was talking to a friend that happened to pass by and the friend said how are you?  He replied pretty good can’t complain ... my corona beer here (he had 2 cases in his shopping cart along with Scott’s bathroom toilet paper)  is keeping me vertical.  I’m not even sneezing or coughing and I now have the luxury of being able to use real toilet paper once more ... I can set aside the local newspaper ... no more blank ink stains to contend with ... so I can’t complain.  I about lost it at that point and had to turn around to look at him. :mdrmdr:

Our libraries have been closed for 8 days now. I have to make a trip to the store tomorrow, should be interesting, my first time out on 9 days.

hey, I have used those magazines when on mission trips, you just have to use the none shiny side and all’s good with the ink issue, seriously. :mdrmdr:

You do know there is a cure for the Corona virus, right? It’s Limes disease. :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:  Get it a lime is apparently what is placed in the top of a corona beer :groan ok bad joke from one of my infection preventionist, but hey hospital humor is what it is!
