A 70-year-old Lincoln County, Missouri foster mother who shipped a teenage girl in her care across state lines, in a scheme witnesses said was tied to a monkey, will spend exactly zero days in a Missouri prison for the felony she just admitted.

Brenda Deutsch, 71, of Winfield, pleaded guilty to first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a Class D felony, after an adopted teenage girl in her care was shipped off to a filthy Texas residence that Deutsch had allegedly never inspected, FOX 2 Now reported.

On Thursday, Lincoln County Judge Thomas J. Frawley sentenced Deutsch to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, but then suspended the execution of that sentence and placed her on three years of supervised probation.

In other words, Deutsch will remain out of prison unless she violates the terms of her probation.

Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Wood previously said that more than 200 calls concerning alleged abuse or neglect at the residence had been made to Missouri’s child-abuse hotline while Deutsch was caring for children.

More than 200 calls.

Yet, according to Wood, his office had received no corresponding police reports, requests for prosecution, or other documentation that would have allowed prosecutors to intervene.

Anyone caught with its materials—including Bibles the ministry has been distributing for decades—could be prosecuted, Furmanov learned.

Mission Eurasia isn’t the only Christian organization Moscow is targeting. Russia’s Ministry of Justice added Child Evangelism Fellowship to its list of “undesirable organizations” in July. The American evangelical ministry is known for its Good News Clubs, which teach the Bible to children.

The government registry lists more than 350 banned organizations, including those focused on democracy, independent media, human rights, and foreign policy. 

While the Russian government has not revealed why it has targeted his ministry, Rakhuba believes Mission Eurasia’s reports on Russia’s persecution of Ukrainian Christians have likely contributed to the designation. “Mission Eurasia has been very outspoken about Russia’s war against Ukraine and particularly about persecution and violations of religious freedom in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine,” Rakhuba said.

He believes the Kremlin’s strategy is to silence evangelicals because “the gospel creates people whose highest loyalty is ultimately to God, not to the government or a political ideology.”

A judge declared a mistrial on Friday after a jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the high-profile case of an American woman who killed her three young children.

Lindsay Clancy, 36, acknowledged strangling Cora, five, Dawson, three, and Callan, eight months, but claimed she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, excusing her from criminal responsibility.

After seven days of deliberations the 12-member Massachusetts jury was unable to reach a unified decision, as required in criminal proceedings in the United States.

Eleven jurors were in favor of finding the 36-year-old Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, but they were opposed by a single holdout.

“At this point, I’m going to declare that the jury is deadlocked, and I’m going to declare a mistrial,” Judge William Sullivan said.

Cathy Engelbert won the lottery when University of Iowa guard Caitlin Clark entered the WNBA.

Clark the most prolific scorer in NCAA history and top assist leader was drafted number one by the Indianapolis Fever in 2024.

The league did nothing when their star player was continually assaulted on the basketball court.  Engelbert did nothing to protect the leagues superstar - the one player that brought millions of viewers to the women's league.

It was so bad that Congress wrote Engelbert to inquire about the multiple attacks on Caitlin Clark.

On Friday, Catherine Engelbert announced her retirement at the end of the season.

Over her lifetime of activism and writing, radical feminist Gloria Steinem became the face of the women’s movement.

On Wednesday, she passed away at 92 at her home in New York City.

During her career, Steinem campaigned for Democrats, demeaned men and the traditional family, and celebrated the killing of unborn children.

Steinem serves as one of eight Honorary Chairs of Democratic Socialists of America for her work for DSA in the 1980s and ‘90s...

A coalition of Christian lawmakers, religious leaders and civic figures asked President Donald Trump to create an expedited legal pathway for Jewish Canadians seeking to move to the United States because of antisemitic persecution or fears for their safety.

The National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL) sent the request to Trump on Thursday, calling on his administration to use existing refugee, humanitarian and visa authorities while preserving US security and admissibility standards.

More than 2,000 Jewish Canadians have expressed interest in relocating because of safety concerns, the letter said.

The signatories pointed to harassment, vandalism, intimidation, threats and violence directed at Jewish schools, synagogues, businesses, institutions and families since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks.

More storms and flooding are possible at the Grand Canyon following a major flash flood that has left one person dead and about 15 others missing or unaccounted for.

The flooding Saturday in Bright Angel Creek, which flows into the river, led to more than 60 people being airlifted from the depths of the canyon.

Parth Desai was hiking through a narrow passage in Bright Angel Canyon with fellow physicians and a park ranger when heavy rain started falling Saturday.

“We saw the creek flood, waterfalls coming up out of nowhere, boulders, mud, landslides happening everywhere,” he said.

Later, as they made their way toward Phantom Ranch, a colleague shouted “Up, Up, Up, Up!” as a 4-foot (1-meter) debris wall headed toward them and they ran up into a patch of cacti, he said. They were rescued by helicopter late Saturday after making it to the Phantom Ranch area, he said.
