People took cover in their cars as a huge swarm of locusts darkened the sky in Russia.

The arrival of millions of locusts turned a peaceful Sunday into an apocalyptic scene in the southwestern corner of the country.

The grasshoppers swept across a field in the Kizlyar district of Dagestan on Sunday, with the sky almost blocked out as they flew over.

Despite being a frightening sight, the locusts are not directly harmful to humans, although they can inflict devastation on vital crops, making them one of the world’s most harmful agricultural pests.

Dagestan’s ministry of agriculture and food said today that it has taken active pest control measures.

The animals can travel up to 93 miles per day.

Looks like New Yorkers have had their fill of communist Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and they aren’t shy in letting him know about it. In Staten Island at a pro-police celebration, the DSAer took the stage and was loudly booed, followed by calls telling him to “Get out of here!” and “Nobody wants you!” that were shouted out from the crowd. The humiliation was palpable as a grinning Mamdani tried to speak and instead wound up slinking off the stage. 

There were approximately 3,500 residents and families who attended the New York Police Department’s 43^rd Patrol Borough National Night Out Against Crime event on Tuesday. Mamdani spoke for less than a minute before he was jeered off the stage, according to Fox News.

As the mayor attempted to speak for that short period of time, the catcalls drowned him out. Finally, he thanked the crowd with his smile plastered on his face and his signature hand-over-his-heart gesture, waved, and walked offstage. The crowd REALLY showed its hate for Mamdani, and the boos and jeers went on and on. Some yelled expletives at him.

Mamdani has always been hostile towards the police, and the feeling is mutual. He has previously called to defund them and has treated the NYPD like they are the actual criminals.

The cold shoulder comes as 9/11 families are telling Mamdani to stay away from the 25^th anniversary of the horrific Muslim terrorist attacks. Mamdani has arrogantly said he will attend anyway.

New York is waking up in a very bad mood concerning its mayor. Righteous anger will be something that Mamdani will try to quell. New Yorkers are not so easily silenced.

The University of California’s grand experiment with “equity” in college admissions is running headfirst into an inconvenient reality: thousands of professors say incoming students are showing up without the basic academic skills needed to handle university coursework.

UC ditched standardized testing requirements in 2020, first going test-optional amid the COVID panic and then fully test-blind, all in the name of “equity.”

Regents claimed the tests discriminated against students of color and lower-income applicants, even though a faculty task force had found the opposite: the SAT and ACT were strong predictors of college success and actually helped identify talented disadvantaged students who might otherwise have been overlooked. The data was ignored. Ideology won.

Six years later, the results are in and they are catastrophic.

According to the LA Times, more than 3,000 UC faculty, including STEM professors and department chairs, have signed open letters demanding the return of the tests.

At UC San Diego, a faculty report documented a roughly 30-fold surge between 2020 and 2025 in incoming freshmen whose math skills tested below high school level.... moreover, 70% of those students fall below middle school levels...

Every year, roughly 30,000 low-skill migrants cheat their way into the H-1B program to get work visas and jobs from Americans, Indian investor Vivek Wadhwa admitted to online host Mark Halperin.

“See, what happens is with every government program, there’s also corruption,” said Wadhwa, who was born in Delhi, India, and is now a famous investor in Silicon Valley. He continued:

First of all, you have people faking their resumes. So you have these body shops who bring people in, and it’s cheap labor. So it’s a fact. It happens … Probably about 20-25 pecent of the people who come in on H-1B visas fall in that category.

“That’s a very high percentage,” of the 120,000 H-1Bs who arrive each year, Halperin responded. “I’d like somebody who supports the program to acknowledge this: that 25 percent are fraud. What’s the solution for that?”

Moreover, Americans’ wages are being pushed down by the population of roughly 1 million Indians with temporary visas... because they say that they suppress wages and they put Americans at a disadvantage, and I hate to admit this, but that does happen,” Wadhwa explained.

Wadhwa downplayed India’s central role in the fraud, even though India has very few good universities but provides roughly 70 percent of the workers for the H-1B visas.... India’s top university is ranked 118th globally by TopUniversities.com...

The displacement is driven by the ability of clever U.S.-based managers – mostly from India — to privately use the visa programs to sell the jobs of their American employees and subcontractors.

The private job sales are managed via wage kickbacks, often called the 80/20 rule. The profits are quietly distributed via layers of subcontracts, managers and executives, and they grow as managers featherbed U.S. offices with extra unproductive workers at elevated wages. The mixed-skill migrants are often expected to compensate for absent skills by hiring their own workers in India to do the actual work, regardless of U.S. privacy laws.

Many young and skilled American graduates never even get their foot on the career ladder, largely because there is no limit to the number of foreign workers who arrive via the H-1B program...

Company representatives for a proposed data center left a city council meeting in Oregon after they discovered protestors had brought a guillotine and displayed it outside during the municipal session.

The company reps departed the late July meeting in Salem prematurely, citing “safety concerns,” Yahoo News reported.

A raucous, vocal crowd also gathered outside of Salem’s Loucks Auditorium to protest a proposed multi-billion-dollar AI data center, according to news reports.

Scientists at Stanford University have used artificial intelligence to design 16 new viruses capable of being reproduced in a laboratory, a breakthrough intended to help combat antibiotic-resistant infections but one that has prompted warnings from biosecurity experts about the risks of the technology.

The BBC reports that the experiment relied on AI models called Evo1 and Evo2, which differ from text-based systems like ChatGPT in that they are trained to predict the genetic codes of viruses, bacteria, plants and even humans. Researchers used the models to generate hundreds of designs for a type of virus known as a bacteriophage, which targets E. coli bacteria. Of those designs, 16 were successfully produced, according to findings published in the journal Science.

The research marks the first time an entire genome has been successfully designed using AI. Scientists say the development of new bacteriophages could eventually lead to novel treatments for infections that no longer respond to antibiotics.

“This is a next step in the complexity that’s designable by generative AI, this is the first time generative AI has been used to design a complete genome, it’s something that can replicate and have other functions inside cells… this was new territory for us,” Brian Hie, an assistant professor at Stanford University, told the BBC.

The achievement has also raised concerns about the broader implications of synthetic biology, the field focused on engineering new forms of life that do not naturally exist, and its potential for misuse in creating pathogens harmful to humans.

In a commentary accompanying the study’s publication in Science, Dr. Thomas Inglesby and Dr. Moritz Hanke of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security wrote that the findings raise “urgent biosafety and biosecurity questions.”

The two doctors wrote that efforts to design new viruses capable of causing disease “should not be pursued.”

On Friday Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan signed a major defense agreement as leaders gathered in the city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It seeks to strengthen joint deterrence and expanding defense cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

It is essentially a NATO-style agreement for the 'Muslim world' - given that it stipulates and formalizes that an armed attack on any of the countries will be treated as an attack against all of them....

Al Jazeera comments...Pakistan brings with it, obviously, its nuclear arsenal, battle-hardened military, and munitions it has been supplying. Turkiye, with its advanced drone and munitions systems, is a NATO member, combined with the economic power of Saudi Arabia.

Turkey has opposed Trump's Operation Epic Fury, and is an avowed enemy of Israel - and so this pact will only serve to further distance Saudi Arabia from entering the Abrahama Accords and establishing lasing normalization with Israel.
