I think this is the right forum for this, I was stuck between here and dreams and visions, I am curious if people who have travelled to heaven or had dreams or visions of heaven could comment on the clothing worn? like is everyone in robes or are "normal" clothes worn? Like Tee's, shorts, jeans, and kilts etc. I am curious about this. I am of scottish decent and have not the money to buy and kilt and highland evening dress but would love to have them in heaven to sometimes wear. I just wonder if robes are for worship or special time and if we have regular clothes the rest of the time. It would certainly be easier to swim in a speedo then in a robe. or even to play football, baseball, etc. Plus for when we are on earth during the MK (1000yr kingdom) it would probably be easier for some to do their jobs, I am hoping for a elementary teaching position myself, in more regular clothes than in robes.

I can't wait for the rapture and going home. but like when you go anywhere on earth you want to know as much as you can about where your going before you leave. I would like to know as much as I can to have a better idea of what it is like there.

Hello Czarpaul, (and welcome to RITA Now)

I personally don't think we can ever imagine what we will be like in heaven, let alone what we'll be wearing...

But based on an experience I had in a dream last year, we all wore either Scarlett or Blue robes, with gold trimmings that were so bright and clean, and seemed always new, like it had always just been made.

But on a different occasion where I died in a dream, I got to the gates of heaven, but i was still in my normal clothes.

But materialistic stuff doesnt really mater, for all I care we may just be covered in light... Or we may be naked... I know, NAKED, lol.... seems daunting I know, but if this is all about the restoration of man from where we fell, and the glory of God, then the description of the garden of eden may be a good place to start.

But regardless of what I may think, our Lord knows best... and I trust, you will love what you are wearing, because remember nobody knows you like you do... but even God knows you more than you know yourself.

This is just a thought on my mind with no scriptural basis, but I do wonder if we will be clothed more like animals. What I mean, is that our clothes will be a part of us, because there will be no more shame and therefore no nakedness.

Naked? only if I have a better body. (flat butt and "beer belly" [ I don't drink but that is the best discription] do not make for great viewing).

Hi, i just posted a Near death experience of someone who was taking to paradise and heaven, download it and watch. The people there are like the angels but they do not have wings. Their garments are attached to their skin, it cannot be removed. Also they are a pure white colour like snow, very beautiful. God Bless x.

All three dreams I have had in Heaven I wore a white robe. Last night I was sinking into my nightly bath when I thought how wonderful it would be to go into the bath in a robe and come out dry.

my mom was praying about the robes last night and she got the word vestments in her head. these are worship garments. maybe robes are worship clothes only>

I've had 3 dreams of Heaven...and in all of them, everyone was wearing regular clothes.

Personally, I kind of hope we have choices (within reason, of course). I absolutely abhor the feeling of things like nightgowns and robes (ick!). I always have.

or worse 1970's polyester leisure suits. disco anyone? could you image jesus come upto you in a white polyester disco suit a huge fro-type hairdo busting a move to stayin' alive?

at least we know the miniskirt and the microskirt will not be there.

At the same time, it's tough to imagine Jesus in anything but robes. A pair of Diesel jeans and a faded Kutless T-shirt??? Converse All-Stars???

And yes, thankfully, the mini and micro skirts won't be around.

Im just wondering if I can mentally customize my spirtual robe. Like can Ithink today I want a cap-sleeve or tunic robe and it just changes with your thought. What about hair? My hair is naturally curly but sometimes I like it straight. Could I flat iron it with a thought? (lol) That would be so cool

Hello Paul,

In the upper right corner you will see a folded back tab . Click on that and you will find "Testimony of Heaven" by Oden Hetrick who had many visits to Heaven. You may find your answer there. There are many books by those who have visited Heaven that address this, too, among many other curious questions. From what I understand there will be special garments of worship and praise to be worn in the Throne room. Other garments for everyday.

There are books here that you can order from the Hetrick family on Heaven. Not all are written by them.

HaHa! You guys are too funny. I have thought about this as well. As a young girl of the 21st century, I would love to wear converse, jeans etc. I'm honestly wouldn't enjoy wearing robes all of the time... I am a gymnast so I couldn't do it now either. But this is out of my hands I guess, I just can't wait to get there! God Bless.

You had me rolling on the floor laughing! Thanks cause it made my day! My hubby has a picture of him in a leisure suit, and we still laugh over it.

I think that robes will be for worship and special occasions, and we'll have other types of dress that fit what we'll be doing at other times. Boy would I feel comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt (biker here)! I would also love to be able to have sweats/work out pants too!

What about during the 1000yr reign, when mankind is again brought into the garden. Will clothing be optional then?

I think in the Garden during the 1000 year reign that clothing will again be optional. As long as there's just the two of you and you're married to each other. Otherwise they might scare the horses. Seriously, Satan will be bound for the 1000 years and we'll be transformed into glory, but the people repopulating the earth will still be subject to temptation and won't need the added strain. Remember that at the end of the 1000 years some of these people will once again come against Israel / the Lord. Idiots that they be.

A very funny ( in a positive way) topic to discuss. I talked with my neighbor about this once. She is 80 and very much interested in clothing and not at least to buy them. She was very sceptic when I told her about these white garments. Did not think it would suit her :))).

Hi,

According to the eyewitness testimony of Kat Kerr and a few others who have had near death experiences and been to heaven and returned, the robes are used for special occasions like visits to the throne room.

Otherwise, the outfits worn are composed of two parts. There is a top like a tunic or long shirt and a pair of slacks. The color and decoration is where originality and creativity come in.

No one mentioned nakedness as an option.

I suppose this is one of those unanswerable questions, but I take it that clothing was in existence before the creation of the human race, or sin entered the picture? Angels are clothed in shining garments as well. Were they made that way, or did God change the dress code when Adam fell?

In any case, clothing remains with us following the eradication of sin, whether for our sake, or as Tender Reed and Thom suggested, at least for others. (Not that I'm complaining!)

I remember i heard from one of my friend, she was in hospital in several years ago before she died, she had vision and saw her husband with Jesus and saw her husband wearing a long white robe with gold sash around his waist. and her husband told her wait, not yet to go. so that s what she shared with us before. now she is with Lord since 2005 or 2006 it has been long time. i am looking forward to see them.

I dunno. Ive always believed that we will be dressed in white robes.
We will be like Jesus, and since the Word depicts Jesus wearing a robe with a golden sash I believe we will be clothed also.

What I think is really mind blowing to think about is whether every single garment is totally unique from the smallest of details in the fabric and pattern, to make it personal between Jesus and each one of us. That it will somehow tell the story of our lives here on earth that only we and He can appreciate. If He can do it with the snow flakes, and with humans, why not our garments as well, as a personal, intimate act of love toward each of us showing how much He values us individually?
