Oh Father, King David oh Lord, a man after God's own heart
Let me chase your heart oh Lord, shine your face upon this wretched man
Dont turn your face away from me oh Lord, do not fore sake me in my shame
I call upon your name, my Spirit cries too hear even a faint whisper of your precious voice
I drown alone, the night surrounds me Lord
My enemies trick, they tempt me, I run through the night, where can I hide?
My prayers are dry, my faith seems of little worth
My words have no meaning, I am but withering grass upon this arid earth
Hear my cries oh Lord
Your soon is not my soon, how long must I wait?
The righteous are cut down in their youth, while the wicked live too age
I have no cause to even stand in your presence oh Lord, why must I demand from you, you who is Holy?
You once picked me up when all my bones were broke
You then seated me beside your throne
Why do I demand from you my dear, dear Lord?
I once called out in the night and you heard my pleas, now a new darkness surrounds my face
Though the enemy stalks wanting too devour me oh Lord, I call too him who alone is Holy in my darkened hours
Let me feel your feathers under the shadow of your wings
As I gaze into the night and see your stars, flung from nail scared hands
I know you will hear my cries, you will pluck me from the snare
Give me the strength too proclaim your name through this wretched soul
You will lead me beside those still waters, my soul shall feel renewed, I am the deer drinking from your stream oh God
My saviour, my life, my wish for your name too be the final words upon these dying lips
Deliver me Lord, stand me on higher ground, teach me too wait upon your call
My soul is only happy when I see your face
My Spirit is yours alone
This dust that is yours will forever praise your Holy name
You are my God, my only hope, my refugee in all storms
Rescue me now, shame my enemies, teach me too be bold
This night will give way too sunshine, your voice I will hear beyond those storms
Your strength alone will make me stand, you will lead me too the shore
My saviour God, my Holy one, my redeemer and sinners friend
I desire your heart, your love divine
Break through this heart of clay, in all I say and do, teach me in your ways
I dont like feeding pigs, the stall is not my home
Daddy can you see me in the distance
As you run this weakened flesh falls before your feet
Praises forever my Holy Father
I will serve you and you alone
Amen
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” — John 13:35
