Me, I like ESV, ASV and Amplified. I like the way ESV and ASV read...while being accurate in translation....at least that's what my research has given me....ESV being my favorite. I use the Amplified to sometimes better understand confusing scripture.

A Sunday School teacher was giving his lesson to the children (who were probably 5, 6 and 7 years old). The teacher asked, "Who can tell me where the Lord lives?"
One boy spoke up and said, "He lives in Heaven."
A girl spoke up and said, "He lives in my heart."
Another boy said, "He lives in our bathroom!"
The class and teacher became quiet for a few seconds. A few moments later, the teacher asked, "Why does the Lord live in your bathroom?"
The boy said, "Well, every morning, my father pounds on the bathroom door and yells, "Good Lord! Are you still in there?!"

However a part of me kept thinking to myself even if you won the money how would you feel knowing so many suffer world wide.
Essentially How could you be happy knowing others are so sad.

Well I dont have to worry about it. The winning ticket was sold in Florida not Denver.

My current state is that God is providing. I have a roof over my head, a job even though I barely get by and some good friends. I'm not in my ideal state but I do seem to be in prayer daily although I still struggle with several vices. I have a longing for the rapture of the church not because I dont have money but because I want to be rid of this sin filled world.

I think its "obtuse" to use my favorite Shaw Shank Redemption word to think that things will ever get better.

I disagree strongly with my Republican friends who put their hope in candidates verses prophecy or the coming Rapture of the church or their faith in Christ.

I think that this world promotes materialism and wealth over faith and I would estimate that over 85 maybe 90% of my friends could careless about their faith until its needed for a sick family member or a terrorist activity. All the CEO's came out "Christmas and Easter Onlies" when 9-11 happened.

With my rich slash wealthy friends there is no talk of prophecy or a desire for the "blessed hope" there is not a longing a see everyone happy, just themselves and their families and friends.

Im not categorizing everyone person that has money into this mindset. However with most there seems to be no concern about the middle east or a market crash or anything else. Its just business as usual. There is no need for constant fellowship with the Lord in fact there is no longing for the Lord at all really.

Prophecy is at break neck speeds right now. I often wonder whats it going to take to get people back in the pews? Whats it going to take to get our minds of material wealth?

I dont know? I get sad sometimes thinking about my current state but Im rather happy knowing that I have been blessed with a desire for prophecy and "a wanting" of "the blessed hope" to occur.

The Golan sits in this valley or Aroer. It is a time piece we can watch as well. What is the next chess piece that gets moved?

This is what I am starting to tink these might actually mean and could be wen things pertaining to the Holy Spirit actually happened.

"Fully Come" - This means it was done. I believe this part means that Pentecost had come and was complete...from start to end.

This is the part I am not sure on as to what time this would be as to if it is sundown on the 19th Jerusalem time or Midnight. I think this timing is the start of our watch time.

"Still full of wine" - This is when the group came out and was accused of STILL being drunk, in regards to the time of drinking being over because Pentecost was done so it wasn't time to drink anymore. So according to the timing of this I think it has been figured out to be about 9 am Jerusalem time. I think a little before that as the Holy Spirit already filled them and now they were outside talking to people asking questions.

So, tonight could still be a High Watch timing IF Pentecost really is the fulfillment of the Rapture. That phrase "fully come" has been bugging me since I read it.

Just my take on this.

I have found both reading and participating here at RITA Now to be very helpful and supportive and I thank you all for this.

I do need to ask your prayer for my Husband. I'm Catholic and he is too, I've been open about this. I believe in the rapture because it's the Truth taught by God. My Husband does not believe in the Rapture even though I've talked to him about it a little bit. What I've done more is to encourage him to trust in Jesus completely. This is the accommodation made for Catholics that we can either believe in the Rapture OR trust in Jesus completely because we would then be trusting Jesus when He snatches us in the Rapture. I would like your prayer that my Husband trust Jesus completely OR believe in the Rapture.

The other thing standing in my Husband's way is that he is too attached to the rules set down by the Catholic church. I look at the Catholic church and see the religious leaders of Jesus' day who missed major prophecies and got themselves too attached to man-made rules. My Husband (whose name I'm withholding for privacy) can not see this view of the Catholic church and I would like your prayer that he see all the truth in and about the Catholic church that God would have him see. Hope, yes I hope we're going home tomorrow, because there's enough evidence to be hopeful that tomorrow is the day!!!

If we ARE still here the day after, I shall also be on High Rapture Alert for the 25th May, as that's the day Comet Lemmon cuts the chains of Andromeda and the Face of Taurus glows like the Sun, and the Sign of Jesus in Heaven is complete...

What kind of “power and signs and wonders of falsehood?” Well how about false tribulation signs? Man-made disasters? Using technology to create “man-made” signs of judgment? Also using modern day TV, Internet, etc to make it so “every eye can see” him coming.
Mat 24:26 “So if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe.
The Real Messiah does not need TV, etc to announce His coming. It will be unmistakable:
Mat 24:27 “For as the lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of Aḏam be.
If we study the Greek word anti we discover that it more frequently means “in place of” or “instead of” in the Messianic Scriptures than its other meaning of “against.” Is this then not what the Messiah prophesied about when He spoke of “another” one, in John 5:43? Further, is it not the same “another” one Sha'ul spoke about in 2Cor11:4? Whoever or whatever the anti-Messiahs are, they are all used by Satan, for he is behind them all. He even masquerades as a messenger of light! (2Co_11:14)

A few days ago, I mentioned a former pastor, Dr. Jim Britt, who recently found out he has bone cancer in his legs. Sadly, I don't think there is anything they can do for him. On a good note, maybe the Lord is calling him Home so he won't have to suffer much longer. Can't wait for y'all to meet him.
On a lighter note, here's a funny thought. As for my buddy, Anthony's Choir debut, maybe he's already practicing. He might be a choir member in his church, or maybe he sings in the shower since he lives alone!! Hahaha! :) As far as I know, he's still doing great in Russia. I'm sure he'll have a lot of stories to tell us when we see him. I've got a lot of stories myself since I've been out of the country a few times, too!
Please keep praying for Dr. Britt like you have been doing.

Is this possibly a message to America about how the Lord is sitting back and not working for this land during this time?

For so the Lord said to me,
“I will take My rest,
And I will look from My dwelling place

I ask because this reads like the Lord is relaxed on what happens to this nation as He takes His rest, no longer works for this nation but just watches.

Part 5 is interesting as it starts "before the harvest" and ends with "take away AND cut down" 2 parts to that last part.

A Taking away (Rapture reference?) along with a Cutting Down (destruction?). I know most of us believe in a destruction of this nation due to the apostasy and turn towrds evil in these days. Could this be further proof of that?

The rest talks about how after that cutting down, the nation is left for the birds of the sky and the beasts of winter. This a timeline of how long this nation suffers?

It ends with "To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts,
To Mount Zion"

Sounds like in the end, this nation learns its lesson and pays its due to Israel or to the temple in Israel, maybe even send what it can to help with the building of the temple?

Still trying to understand and wondering what others think.

I'm so grateful that I know the Son and the best case scenario.....

I'd like to examine a last days prophecy Paul delivered to Timothy. It is in 2 Timothy 3, 1-9, and it concerns "perilous times", or "Godlessness in the last days." Paul warned Timothy that in the last days perilous times would come, and Paul went on to describe the characteristics of people's behavior in those last days.

There is a common misconception regarding the passage though, and I'll be addressing the verses and the misconception in part 2.

But before we look at perilous times in the last days, I want to define last days, and show its distinction from the phrase we read about in the Old testament and the New, "The Day of the Lord".

The Day of the Lord is mentioned 4 times in the New Testament. (Acts 2:20; 1 Thess 5:2; 2 Thess 2:2; and 2 Pet 3:10). The Old Testament prophets mentioned it much more often, 19 times in fact. The prominent theme of every Day of the LORD prophecy is God’s judgment of sin. (source)

"Now what is the day of the Lord? Well, the day of the Lord as a term, mark it in your mind, refers to not one day but a period of time. We use the word "day" in the same way. We say this is the day of...this is the day of space travel, or this is the day of existentialism, or this is the day of alcoholism, or this is the day of marital breakup, or this is the day of whatever. We use it in that sense and that's the way it's used in this reference. This is the day of the Lord. In other words, man has had his day, man has had his fling and now it's God's time. And the Lord is going to begin to do some things. And so the day of the Lord is a period of time beginning with the rapture of the church and extending through the millennial kingdom. It covers all kinds of events. It covers the Tribulation time when the Lord takes back the earth. It covers the conquering of the nations at Armageddon. It covers the judgment of the nations. It covers the establishment of the Kingdom. It covers the reign of Jesus Christ on earth for a thousand years. It covers the vanquishing of Satan. It covers this whole great eschatological time block from the Rapture to the end of the Kingdom. That whole era of the end of history is the day of the Lord. " (source)

It is not popular to talk about God's anger, God's vengeance. In fact, seldom do you hear a sermon on the day of the Lord, on the time when Jesus comes back to judge those who have rejected Him. Everything today needs to be positive and affirming and comforting. And very few preachers really want to deal with this particular topic. Rarely does someone preach on the vengeance of God." Last year, Paul Lopez in Crosswalk.com, wrote an essay titled, "Seven 'Last Days' Passages You'll Rarely Hear Pastors Preach On". He said, "When was the last time you heard a "last days" sermon from the Old Testament? When most pastors preach a sermon on the end times they usually start with the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21) or the Book of Revelation. For years the focus on end times discussions has remained in the New Testament. Unfortunately that results in our teachers only giving us the end of the story."

Mr Lopez's assessment includes a dearth of preaching on the following topics (verses and summary included in the link)

1. Jacob's Prediction of the Last Days
2. Moses' Warning to the Israelites
3. Jeremiah's Prediction of the Last Days.
4. Prediction of the New Covenant That Would Come
5. Jesus Was Born in the 'Last Days'
6. Isaiah's Prediction of judgment on Old Covenant Israel in the Last Days
7. Joel's Prediction that the Holy Spirit Would be Poured Out in the Last Days

Is the Day of the Lord one day, or more than one day? BiblicalTraining.org defines it this way,

DAY OF THE LORD. An eschatological term referring to the consummation of God’s kingdom and triumph over his foes and deliverance of his people. It begins at the Second Coming and will include the final judgment. It will remove class distinction (Isa. 2:12-Isa. 2:21), abolish sins (2 Pet. 3:11-2 Pet. 3:13), and will be accompanied by social calamities and physical cataclysms (Matt. 24:1-Matt. 24:51; Luke 21:7-Luke 21:33). It will include the millennial judgment (Rev 4:1-Rev 19:6) and culminate in the new heaven and the new earth (Isa. 65:17; Isa. 66:22; Rev. 21:1)."
Some scholars include the actual Millennial Reign in the Day of the Lord, such as John Walvoord and John MacArthur, others such as Professor Richard Mayhue of The Master's Seminary, for example, simply include the judgment at the outset of it and the end of it (Sheep & Goats judgment and Great White Throne Judgment) and not the reign.

So when are "the last days"? Most scholars acknowledge that it is the Messianic Age. Some of them agree that the last days began with the birth of Jesus, through the rapture. Others say that the last days began when John the Baptist began preaching in advance of Jesus. Still others hold the last days began when Jesus was baptized and began preaching. A very few believe the last days began in 1948 when Israel was re-formed into a nation as the major end times sign. In any case, the last days are the Messianic Age. After the rapture, the Day of the Lord will begin, the judgment period of time when sin will be addressed through God's vengeance and wrath.

My position is the last days began at the birth of Jesus, and will end when the rapture occurs. The Day of the Lord will then begin.

Now the verse about Godlessness in the Last Days

Godlessness in the Last Days 1But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men. (2 Timothy 3:1-9)

Can you really live casually knowing that there comes a day of wrath and vengeance? The LORD never, ever, EVER lets sin go unaddressed. He will address it- He is angry at the sin in the world and the sin in you. Jesus is your ark, your shelter, your safety. He is the refuge for your very soul. He died on the cross for the LORD, as the sacrifice upon which God exhausted His wrath. If you are in Jesus, He will not pour out His wrath on you, because He already poured it out on Jesus. If you are not in Jesus, you will be in the middle of the world's largest storm of heavenly wrath ever seen by man, and shall ever be. (Matthew 24:21). Pray to Jesus now for Him to forgive your sins. If you are sincere, claiming Him as risen Lord and Savior able to forgive, then you are saved. Confess and believe. (Romans 10:9). The Day of the LORD is at hand! (Isaiah 13:6).

Part 2 will take a closer look at Godlessness in the last days, and whether Paul was referring in those verses to the world or the church.

Fair Use For Educational and Discussion Purposes

My grandmother just called me and told me a former pastor of my church, Jim Britt, has been diagnosed with bone cancer. He is in his 60s with children and grandchildren. I've known Dr. Britt for many years. When he was our pastor, he looked fine health-wise. However, for the past few years, he has walked with a cane and I think he has developed some other health issues. He is such a loving, compassionate Christian. Please pray for him. Is anyone else amazed at the sudden rise in talk of a "zombie apocalypse?"

I've seen "tongue-in-cheek" articles on "How to survive the coming zombie apocalypse."

I've even seen a news story where a local law enforcement group somewhere put on a "surviving a zombie attack" training. Their excuse was that you would do many of the same things in a zombie apocalypse that you would for any other emergency situation.

Now, let's think about the "dead in Christ" rising first. (There are many people on this board who know eschatology better than I do. I don't know if the act of Christ receiving the dead to Himself will leave open graves or anything like that.) This could be another way to explain away the open graves, perhaps demons will even act like zombies walking around and attacking people.

With people open to Aliens and Zombies, I think that the enemy has some post-rapture stories all ready to go.

(This is a bit of a stretch: But also notice that Aliens and Zombies: A-Z. Christ is the Alpha and the Omega. Coincidence? Maybe, but we know that Satan likes to do things like this.)

What side of the fence are you on God's side?
Sitting on the fence in the middle?
Still on the worlds side not knowing if you should cross?

God is worth more than anything you could ever have to give up. Eternity with him is priceless.
Nothing I could ever desire compares to the beauty of God and Jesus.

You and me (although all has been forgiven because of what Jesus did on the cross) God is not finished with us yet. Let's be moldable in our father's hands to glorify him and Jesus Christ.
