Superbolts also go the other way. Pilots had long reported bolts of lightning going from cloud tops far upward into space. It was discounted until pilots got video of the phenomenon and scientists linked it with reported superbolts striking earth. I personally witnessed one here in Florida. There was a lot of regular lightning when all of a sudden ahead of the car, further away than most of the lightning, a superbolt lit up the sky and lasted for over a second, like what was shown in the video above. It shook me up and make me think about the rapture!

Jeez, I didnt even know there was such thing as a superbolt! Has it been around for awhile, or is it a new natural phenomena that has developed because of the nearness of Christ's return?

My grandson felt it and thought it was an earthquake. Channel 6 (cbs) meteorologist stated it was a “ground to cloud” strike and referenced it as a “thunderquake.” And reported “one persons bed shook 4′ from the wall.” It was felt and heard from Broken Arrow to Owasso at least… Thanks for the post and reference!

Gwyn, thanks for posting that eye-witness account and the video! I can't imagine that experience.

With a bolt like that, I'm sure it caused a fire. Was there a report of a blaze?

Superbolt eyewitness account:

about 3:30am, I was jolted out of sleep by something new. It had been raining and thundering all night as it was, but I sensed something different was happening.

As I became fully awake, I knew that this particular thunder had been rolling across the city from west to east for a good 10 seconds. As it passed my house, everything began to shake and the light fixture over my bed began to dance the hula. No joke. It sounded like it was ready to start dropping bits and pieces.

I started to wonder if this might actually be an earthquake, being so similar in sight and sound to the one experienced some months ago.

It took me a few seconds to focus on what was actually happening. The ground was still, but everything else was shaking.

“Thunder-quake” some are calling it. Apparently, it’s really a “super-bolt” of lightning, which occurs only 5 times out of a million bolts.

Thank goodness there was no damage. God wants our attention! Now Oklahomans are super charged people.

On the spiritual side of things I do feel this is significant. Perhaps such super bolts could assist in changing spiritually charging conditions as in raising the dead or translating bodies. Could it be? Then again I have a great imagination.

Wow! Thanks for posting this! I've never heard of a super-bolt before. I can't imagine what that was like to feel it. And 3:33 in the morning? You bet that's got to have spiritual significance!

March 21, 2012 – OKLAHOMA - It woke up sleepy Tulsans, set-off car alarms and freaked out the family pet. Many people thought it was an earthquake that hit Tulsa at 3:33 this morning. Instead, says National Weather Service Meteorologist Steve Amburn, is was a “Super Bolt.” Amburn says a super bolt is a positively-charged cloud-to-ground stroke of lightning. Computer records indicate a single “super bolt” struck in the heart of South Tulsa just after 3:30. No damage from the super bolt is reported
