Your puppy "angel" is waiting for you in Heaven with her - paws wide open - I'm sure!  Thank you for this story; I can relate.   Tx Thom may be right too, we may be delighted to find that they were in fact angels appearing as animals to comfort us.  That would be just like our awesome Lord to send them to give us love, support, and physical hugs!

Ah, I do believe that you may well be right about the devil speaking through the serpent!  But regardless, I still think that animals are going to be talking in heaven.  I can just imagine a dog or a cat approaching us and asking, "Would you like to pet me now?" 

Caleb, thanks for asking about my knee!  After a couple of days, it was much better, and now it seems to be fine....but I'm still being cautious about making any sudden moves in case it's still sore.

I agree with Live 4 Him, Ruth. I'm very sorry that you went through that as a child, also.  I'm so glad you had your Muttly to console you, sis.   

Similar to what a previous poster mentioned, I also spent several years of my childhood in the grips of a violent, alcoholic parent, a very scary step-father.  Probably just days before this man walked into our lives, my older brothers brought home a black and white puppy.  My oldest brother let me name her.  I didn't know she was a girl, and I named her Muttly.  Lol.

Anyway, dark times followed very quickly after she came into my life, and I can remember sitting on the picnic table in the backyard many times during those years that followed, holding onto her for dear life, sobbing desperately into her fur...while voices screamed and glass broke and fists pounded inside the house.  She would stand so still, and rest her head on my shoulder, and she would always whimper as I cried.  I knew she felt my despair. 

5 years later, things changed and violence was no longer a part of my homelife (Thank you, Jesus).  Within weeks, Muttly developed a cancerous growth, and she was put down.  The last memory I have of her is hugging her goodbye, and telling her I was sorry for what was about to happen.

She came into my life just days before I needed her most, and left as soon as I was safe.  I was still too young at the time to really comprehend the depths to which she had comforted me during those years.  So, I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to wrap my arms around her again, and tell her thank you.

My coydog won't need to say much of anything. She'll be found bounding about non-stop like a kangaroo race car in my backyard!

My black lab will probably come up to me to greet me at my front door and say, "Your couch is comfy. I kept it nice and warm."

Anyways the only pets I have ever had were guinea pigs. I had my first one when I was little and it was a girl. Well we decided to get Coco and Oreo ( two guys ). Well that didn't work out well. Coco died because he was old, but Oreo would breed with Stevie like crazy! Over the course of a couple years they kept breeding and we kept giving away. Then we gave all of them away because we were moving away from Michigan. Then where I live now, I got two new guinea pigs. Romeo and George. They died also. Well I hope that I can keep them all in heaven which is around 30 guinea pigs. Oh boy, what would they say??

55 miles north of Anchorage an Alaskan Highway Patrolman is responding to a scene, his is lost in 75 miles of back roads.  His global positioning system has failed and he is desperately trying to find his way and respond to a call for help.  The officer is about to make a wrong turn, when he spots this shadow up ahead, the dog leads the AHP to the right turn and through two other turns to the location of his family's fire.

Buddy was given a dog bowl by the AHP with "for dilligence and assistance"  his owner said they would have lost their house if it were not for Buddy.  When a shed caught fire and burned, Buddy's owner told him, we need to get help.  Buddy just took off running through the woods.  What a smart dog!!!!!! Buddy knew to go through the woods to get to the main road, but then to follow the road back home to lead the Alaskan Highway Patrol in to help them.

You must have posted at the same time as me or something, I am just now seeing the post you were talking about, I am sorry.  I lost two of my postings about this same time too?  I am sorry to hear about your cat.  I have no doubt that you may be re-united in Heaven, where there will be no more accidents - ever!  Your orange coated baby will be waiting for you, of this I'm sure.

What an horrific story.  At least you, your baby and todler were unharmed.  This is one of those times where we possibly do not have the full story- nothing to do with you- just your kitty may have helped you in some way that day that you are not aware of?  I have absolutely no doubt that your white fire-tipped kitty is waiting for you in Heaven; God made the kitty for you once, he will again.   Isn't out God GREAT! 

Praise the Lord I never got a firm hold on her because I didn't even see the kitty on the first step.  I stepped on him and fell down half the staircase.  My toddler freaked out, laundry was everywhere.  I didn't see the kitty but I went back up to console her.  When I finally made it to the bottom of the steps, I saw kitty a few feet away, not moving.  He either fell down the stairs and wandered there, or he ran down the stairs and collapsed.  I knew he was gone. 

I freaked out and screamed for our roommate, who ran out of his room like the house was on fire.  He called my husband to come home, I was inconsolable.  We had just gotten the kitty from the pet store, and had spent the past few weeks getting him well at the vet from an illness only to step on him and he passes anyway.  From ME.

Those were dark days for me.  I cried out to God to forgive me.  I've never killed any animal before.  I don't even like to kill bugs - I put them on a napkin and shake them off outside.  And kitties have such a special place in my heart.

I did go to the OB to check on the baby (because I'd fallen down the stairs) but the baby was just fine.  It tore me up inside to take the kitty BACK to the vet not more than days after we got him back from his illness, explaining what had happened.  He was all white with "fire-tips", meaning the tips of his ears and the tip of his tail were orange.  He was beautiful.  I still cry over him sometimes.

I know God (and the kitty) forgive me, but it's never easy when something happens that's out of your control.  Southpaw, I know the awful pain and suffering you must have felt that day.

I accidentally ran over and killed one of our cats.     I felt a lot of guilt, because I was pulling into the driveway way too fast.  He had a beautiful orange coat.  I hope the first thing he says is he forgives me.

Beckabecks:  Yep, I think there is a lot more going on with animals than we understand.  As with all nature, there was a huge shift, for the worse, when we fell in the garden.

I just had a conversation with a philosophy professor about this.  Why are they all so very impressed with their own minds and refuse to see anything that deals with God?    Some of them are so blind, it gives me the creeps.

The monarch butterfly travels from it's wintering grounds in Mexico to the northern US and southern Canada, then returns to Mexico in the fall.  NONE of the butterflys that return in the fall, were of the generation that left Mexico in the spring.  Yet they know how to get home.

All beaver in the world build the same dams, they do not talk by cell phone, and yet they all know how to construct an extreemly strong structure.

TX Thom, I think you just might be on to something about the animals being angelic beings, or some of them, would explain how many have entertained them unawares.  There seems to be an animal - angelic connection in some of the Heavenly angels too.

When I look at an African Leopard's eyes, for instance, I can see the wheels turning in their minds, the are SOO VERY smart.  We just are not aware of it now, from the fall.  Some day we will know THEM as they truly are.  Praise God!

I can't wait to see her and thank her for loving me. I really believe she was an angel of sorts that helped me and my siblings in that horrible house. What a godsend she was to us.

I absolutely do not agree with you!  I love the verse you quoted, it is one of the most beautiful in The Bible.  And you are spot-on as my British friends say.  Everything in creation declares His Glory.  Plants, animals, flowers, the stars, even the rocks (there are some very good looking rocks by the way) diamonds - emeralds - rubbies - etc. 

The earth is but a shadow of Heaven, so there is no doubt that animals and our pets will be there.  I tend to think it will be some form of (recreation).  They would need to be remade, for lack of a better word, without their sin nature that they got from man in the garden.  Lions and lambs in Heaven are best budds - right!  For example, God made our pets, He knows the "DNA make-up of each, and the make-up of each personality that He made, so I feel it will be easy for Him to provide us with them in Heaven.  Your post was great, thank you; I have no idea what you are talking about.  , ybiC Caleb

I can’t begin to understand what some of the folk in northern NSW have gone through but this morning my friend told me the story of a family who had to be evacuated by helicopter. The wife had a poddy lamb (that’s what we call ones that are hand-reared for various reasons) and she said the hardest thing she had to do was push the poddy lamb back after it tried to go in the helicopter too. 
Apparently this lamb had become best mates with one of the dogs and when they left the people had secured the dogs up on a high level of their cotton gin out of the water. The lamb must have heard the dogs because when the people came back they found the lamb sitting up with the dogs after having found its way up into the cotton gin somehow. That’s one smart little lamb. 
And all power to the dogs as there were several of them including pig dogs but the little lamb was perfectly safe and didn’t end up as their dinner. 
Then, the husband did a bit of a reconnaissance of the place and this involved him wading in water up to his neck. He thought he heard a little noise and when he looked around here was the little lamb swimming to try and catch up to him, obviously concerned that she was going to be left alone again.
So, I reckon those people should have that lamb as a pet for life now! Amazing how animals behave in emergencies and how species can get on when they want to.

I know EXACTLY how you feel.  2 years ago, while I was gone for the morning - helping my brother - my three got the back door open (unknown to me at the time was that my youngest Great Pyrenees had figured out how to open shut doors with his paws) all three of mine went blocks into the downtown area.  One went inside a Sears Store with a customer and was in the back checking out the refrigerators (she knows where the food is kept).  Sears called the police and they came and picked up the two oldest dogs.  The youngest witnessed this and was having nothing of it, he ran all the way home with the cops in hot pursuit.  The police just shut him in the house when he ran inside.  The other 2 were $40 each, to bail out of doggie-jail, the fine here doubles every time they are found loose.  This is the only time they have gotten out.  But, now all doors are locked @ all times now, and the youngest one barks at the police "bad men" every time he sees a police car.  It is embarassing.  But He knows who they are.  Who am I to be blessed with smart dogs?

Anyway, I would imagine pets saying something like, "Thank you for adoping me, loving me, and taking such good care of me."   Then they'll give you a big sloppy kiss!!

It used to bother me, that my 3 dogs would be left with no food or water and no way to get out of the house, at the rapture; we must have faith that He will care for them.  I prayed about this a lot.  One day, in my spirit, I received TOTAL peace about this.  God created them, they belong to Him not us.  We are allowed to care for them while here on earth.  God made each of their personalities and their ability to love unconditionally.  Not only will He take care of them, I'm sure they will be in Heaven with us.  There is too much love and joy shared between us, for it to be discarded.   After all, God is Love.

Before the fall, I think animals were very different.  The Bible tells us that Adam named each one of the animals, what I think happened, is that the animals helped Adam come up with each of their names.   I had a dream once of a little black cocker-spaniel mix, that I had as a young boy.  He was just trotting down a sidewalk.  I was sitting on the porch steps of a house I had never seen before; when he saw me he ran into my arms.  That is the only heaven dream I have ever had, and I had not thought about that dog for a very long time.  My belief is that it was God's way of saying to me that eventually everything will be alright.  It was a difficult time in my life, and I still cherish that dream memory of Inky.  I too think he is in heaven waiting for me to hurry up and get there. 

Jayda, I think for sure, you are going to have a puppy, one that will never die or get hurt or sick; you may not know the puppy now, but it would not be outside of the possibilities of God to have the puppy in Heaven right now, just waiting on you to get there too.

Not only the animals, but what about the rocks, trees, flowers and everything in all creation.  Why shouldn't they speak as well.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

His new creation, I sure hope our animals go with us.  Just like Noah got to take animals on the ark.

It breaks my heart to think of them being left behind when I'm raptured. Do you supposed that if I walk around carrying them all the time that when the rapture happens they'll be sure to go up because I'm holding them?

Sigh!

The verse does not say that the Angel of the Lord spoke through the donkey, it says God opened her mouth!  If God can open the mouth of a donkey, He for sure will open my dog's mouths; they have enough to say right now on earth!

One of the first things I am going to ask my dogs, is this:  "Why is it that when I blow kisses into your face, you hate it?  However, when we go for a ride in the car, what is the first thing you do?  You stick your head out the window!  What is up with THAT?" 

You-all didn't think about being able to speak to them did you?    Yep, going to happen...
