You mentioned that you went to church services on the beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, now I am home sick.....I used to swim in the Hawaiian Village Lagoon and we went to church services on Ft. DeRussy.  Hubby and I lived in a little one bedroom apartment just across from the present day "Hale Koa" on Paoca Place, it used to be Dewey Way.  Small world......but I still want to go home with Jesus.

Why do I say that?  Because after the day has passed with out the rapture occurring, the unbelieving world will then never believe a TRUE warning when it comes. Especially if it is soon thereafter.  What's that you say?

Lot was given a direct warning from Gods angels a few hours before the firey destruction of Sodom and Gomarrah.  Noah was given a few days (7) before Gods destruction of all the unrighteous and violent world before the flood.   I think they both gave warning to friends, neighbors and anyone who would listen, but no one did and all perished.

The pattern is that God does give a sure word of warning to His righteous before he brings on a time of destruction.  And, believe me when I say that the full 7 years of Daniels 70th week will be a time of emmense destruction; so much so that God has to somehow shorten the time as to allow for the saving of a remnant of mankind.

What I believe is the scenerio about to be played out this May 21st is, first: a false date is set by someone that a great many people in the World accepts as Gods messenger and that date is found to be inaccurate and false.  Secondly: God warns the watchers who are looking for the return of the Bridegroom  a few hours or days before, the true time of the rapture and those watchers tell their love ones and communities of the impending event but because of the false prediction of "a man of God" they will not believed until after the event occurrs.

There was no grace for those not on board the ark at the time of Gods first world wide destruction.  There was no grace for those in Sodom and Gomarrah.  But I believe Gods grace will be poured out on all who truly call on the Name of Jesus during the Tribulation.  Satan would not be expecting that because He is so under the Law.  And so God will take what Satan meant for evil and turn it into something GOOD.

Anyway, thats my thoughts on this issue.

I believe you are right Scott.  The creation week parallels are pretty much undeniable:

The first part of this study is about the patterns of numbers in the Bible. In the beginning, God set the pattern of the days of the week. The following verses seem to indicate through this pattern, that God views one day as a thousand years on earth:

Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 certainly speak of the eternal nature of God and His longsuffering, when speaking of a thousand years and a day. However, Peter says a thousand years is a day twice in two different ways. When things are mentioned twice in Scripture, it is generally expected that there will be a dual fulfillment or it has a dual meaning.

The first meaning in 2 Peter 3:8 is obviously speaking of God's longsuffering when we look at the immediate context. Upon further study we find evidence throughout Scripture that God has set a pattern after the creation week for the time span He has planned for His redemptive work of man. This second meaning fits with the context of the rest of 2 Peter 3 about the day of the Lord, in that the last thousand years will be ruled by Christ in the flesh.

Unintentially he will be leading many astray, they maybe were about to receive Christ, but may be ridiculed by the non-event and not accept Christ.  We need to pray for those that are following Camping, and those that are watching his "testimony".

It had x2 people a husband and a wife that were followers of Camping.

They said that they gave up their jobs, sold their home and by the time the 21st rolls around this weekend the very last dime / cent of their life funds would have been used up.

There is a difference of 21 years to be accounted for to add up to 2,000 years!! That is where you count all the 5 extra days for the 36(5)  days in the gentile years of that 1979 year period and it comes to something like 27 years!!! 

I think if you subtract one year from 32AD which the pentacost feast may have been in 31AD!!

So that would be 20AD and the 27 years of my total will be the 2,000 years of church history minus the 7 year tribulation period which is by grace not counted!!!

Maybe someone could do a better job of calculating how long the Church Age is from Pentacost in 31AD or 30AD!!

We only need one sign to know that the seven year countdown is near and the will be this September with the Palestinian vote on giving land to Israel's enemy by a forced Peace Treaty which may come even sooner then this September event!!

I believe the Lord wants all the nations of the world to take a step forward and cast their vote either for Israel or for this Palestinian State which will mark for judgment all those nations who turn their back on Israel--This will begin the tribulation period!!

The rock that God may throw in the eye of the nations because of this action is the rock from space comet Elenin!! Which will show up on the earth's doorstep by September 2011!!

I look for the rapture sometime before the feast of Pentacost or not much time after this historic date!!

The church was born on Pentacost I would not be surprised if we were carried away on this date-but I cannot make a date happen!! It is only a possibility as is every day from now on just as good a rapture date as the next one!!

We just have to be alert for the day is now closer then it ever has been!!

Camping in his Open Forum session does not claim to be a prophet in the sense of hearing from God.  Camping does believe he has the right calculation to the return of Christ, which we all know from the countless of profound calculations here have been proven to be in error.

I am not saying he's biblical or anything like that (I have not listened enough to know whether or not he's a heretic)  I don't agree with numerology which he purports.

One statement he made was a numeric reason as to why the number of the beast is 2 * 3 * 3 * 37 which comes to 666.  I'm just not buying it or his date.  But honestly, I'd love for him to be right, because I love Christ and I can't wait to see Him.

I would advise stearing clear of everything that mr camping says even if it sounds true because once a prophet has been found false you can never trust a word they say.  Mr. Camping has a record of lies.

Was it to the point of Camping's level exactly?  Probably No, but it was enough for me in my newness to watching to experience emotional pain.

I think most of all, we need to pray for those whose faith will be tested come May 22nd.

In my heart, I'm saddened because I remember when my faith was tested in 2007 when people here thought the end was coming that year.  I went into a "spiritual coma" if you will because of this forum in 2007.

Missed dates hurt people spiritually and they cause others to scoff at the Christian faith.  I do wish he was right, but unless God intervenes, I believe there will be many who have a crisis of faith come May 22nd.

We should be aware that people on this forum has done some of the same things Harold Camping is probably going to do to others when this date is missed.  He really believes like many people here have genuinely believed that they had the date.  We need to pray for him and pray for those that have been hurt by dates in the past.  But I will add that we need to keep watching and it's why I am still here.

This world holds nothing for us for those who believe!

Both Water and Fire can be destructive forces.  Both Water and Fire can wipe away the old to make way for the new.  Water in the form of a massive Tsunami can wash away the works of man and nature alike.  Forest fires can do likewise, burning homes, businesses and nature alike.

Jesus compared himself to Living Water.  Life on this planet would be impossible without fresh sources of drinking water.  Both plants and animals would die without it.

Jesus also compared himself to Light.  He is the Light of the World.  Again, without the "fire" of the Sun life here on earth would be impossible.  For we need both the light for things to grow and to see and we also need warmth.

Water is seen in three forms.  Solid: ice, Liquid: water and Gaseous: steam.

Scriptures tell us that we are baptised in water, fire and spirit

Luke 3:16(NASB)

John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Water cleanses us, The Holy Spirit seals us and Fire purifies us.  Such as when gold, which is a precious metal, is melted in order to burn off the dross and purify the metal remaining.  We have been cleansed by water baptism, burying our old self and rising up to walk in newness of life.  We have been sealed as a promise of our future redemption by the Holy Spirit.  We will be refined or purified at the Bema Seat judgment.  Where we will be rewarded for what we have done to further His kingdom.  The wood, hay and stubble of our selfish motives will be burned away.

So even though both Water and Fire are used as a global form of judgment by God.  Removing the wicked from the face of the earth.  We have no fear in that regard.  For if God saves the righteous such as Noah and his family and Lot and his family, He can save us in a similiar fashion.  For God's nature does not change.  He is both righteous and merciful.  He is both judge and advocate on our behalf.  You made an interesting point about only half of Lot's family escaping judgment.  All in all a well thought out study.  Two thumbs up!
