This explains why and how the moon gets compared to Israel and to the Church. Something I was having trouble reconciling.

Brandy is referring to the rabbinical theory that lunar eclipses portend problems befalling Israel and solar eclipses portend problems befalling the nations of the earth. Whether the eclipse occurs early in the day or late supposedly indicates whether the problem is coming immediately or after a bit of a delay.

Whether or not these theories work out in fact will depend on looking backwards. We may be reading far more into it than God intended. Or maybe not. It is clearly a matter of theories and suppositions rather than clear God spoken prophecy. But it's fun to watch for, just in case.

Does the moon represent the church? It doesn't have light of its own but reflects the light of the Sun?

Or does the moon represent Israel and the Sun the gentiles? Or something else entirely?

Does the moon phase give any indication of the imminent rapture?

Does the full moon represent the church being with Jesus? or the new moon the absence of the church on earth?

On a more serious note, thank goodness that wasn't on earth. A perfect example of how God is in control protecting us right now. But Tribulation Saints, watch out for falling objects from space! Especially Wormwood.

The moon has a new hole on its surface thanks to a boulder that slammed into it in March, creating the biggest explosion scientists have seen on the moon since they started monitoring it.

The meteorite crashed on March 17, slamming into the lunar surface at a mind-boggling 56,000 mph (90,000 kph) and creating a new crater 65 feet wide (20 meters). The crash sparked a bright flash of light that would have been visible to anyone looking at the moon at the time with the naked eye, NASA scientists say.

"On March 17, 2013, an object about the size of a small boulder hit the lunar surface in Mare Imbrium," Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office said in a statement. "It exploded in a flash nearly 10 times as bright as anything we've ever seen before." [The Greatest Lunar Crashes Ever]

NASA astronomers have been monitoring the moon for lunar meteor impacts for the past eight years, and haven't seen anything this powerful before.

Scientists didn't see the impact occur in real time. It was only when Ron Suggs, an analyst at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., reviewed a video of the bright moon crash recorded by one of the moon monitoring program's 14-inch telescopes that the event was discovered.

"It jumped right out at me, it was so bright," Suggs said.

Scientists deduced the rock had been roughly 1-foot-wide (between 0.3 to 0.4 meters) and weighted about 88 lbs (40 kg).The explosion it created was as powerful as 5 tons of TNT, NASA scientists said.

When researchers looked back at their records from March, they found that the moon meteor might not have been an isolated event.

"On the night of March 17, NASA and University of Western Ontario all-sky cameras picked up an unusual number of deep-penetrating meteors right here on Earth," Cooke said. "These fireballs were traveling along nearly identical orbits between Earth and the asteroid belt."

Though Earth's atmosphere protected our planet's surface from being hit by these meteors, the moon has no such luck. Its lack of an atmosphere exposes it to all incoming space rocks, and the NASA monitoring program has spotted more than 300 meteor strikes that reached its surface since 2005.

Part of the motivation for the program is NASA's eventual intent to send astronauts back to the moon. When they arrive, they'll need to know how often meteors impact the surface, and whether certain parts of the year, coinciding with the moon's passage through crowded bits of the solar system, pose special dangers.

"We'll be keeping an eye out for signs of a repeat performance next year when the Earth-Moon system passes through the same region of space," Cooke said. "Meanwhile, our analysis of the March 17th event continues."

The scientists also hope to use NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter to photograph the impact site to learn more about how the crash occurred.

Chickadee, Fibonacci is a mathematical sequence that “mysteriously” appears in nature. It begins 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21.... and all subsequent numbers are found by finding the sum of the previous two numbers added together. Example: 0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8, etc. This sequence is found in flower petals, pine cones, leaves, etc. Also, Phi, or “the golden number/golden ratio”, which is .618 or 1.618 is found in abundance in the Fibonacci sequence. Supposedly, the closer something is to Phi, the more pleasing it is to the eye. In addition to being found rampant in nature, it is also used in things such as architecture and paintings/drawings to make them more pleasing to the human eye. Hope I made sense there....

When I was a young Christian, I heard someone say, "I want to be so close to Christ that I won't feel like a stranger when He calls me home." I've thought about that often over the years. This post made the hair stand up on my arms. Why? Because I work someplace where I serve people face-to-face every day. I love doing that. Each person is made in the image of God, and made personally by His very hands, so I honor that. He loves them, so I will too, and I do everything I can to love them, even in small ways (looking them right in the eyes as they speak, asking them how they are and really listening to what they say, etc.). Anyway...my point:

I've had so many people say to me that I'm such a bright person. Someone told me that I was intense. I asked her to explain, and she said I was like a bonfire on a beach at night--bright. Not in a bad way, she said. You're so very sweet, she said, but an intensity around my eyes that reminded her of fire. I get things said to me somewhat like this *every day.* I didn't know what to make of it...until I read this post.
