Numbers 22:28-30,  "And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said unto Balaam,...And the donkey said unto Balaam, Am not I thine donkey, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day..."

The verse does not say that the Angel of the Lord spoke through the donkey, it says God opened her mouth!  If God can open the mouth of a donkey, He for sure will open my dog's mouths; they have enough to say right now on earth!

One of the first things I am going to ask my dogs, is this:  "Why is it that when I blow kisses into your face, you hate it?  However, when we go for a ride in the car, what is the first thing you do?  You stick your head out the window!  What is up with THAT?" 

You-all didn't think about being able to speak to them did you?    Yep, going to happen...

Caleb, thanks for bringing this up.

Not only the animals, but what about the rocks, trees, flowers and everything in all creation.  Why shouldn't they speak as well.

Psalm 19:1-4

The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands,

Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they display knowledge.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

Their voice goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

His new creation, I sure hope our animals go with us.  Just like Noah got to take animals on the ark.

I actually have thought about being able to speak to our pets and other animals in heaven. I can't have a dog or any other animal with fur at the moment because my mom is allergic but I think that it'll be amazing to experience that in heaven! Just another wonderful gift that God will bless us with. I know that there are a lot of animal lovers on this site and I strongly believe that we will be able to continue to cherish and love them after the rapture. I would love to have a puppy in heaven too :) Can't Wait!

His new creation:

It used to bother me, that my 3 dogs would be left with no food or water and no way to get out of the house, at the rapture; we must have faith that He will care for them.  I prayed about this a lot.  One day, in my spirit, I received TOTAL peace about this.  God created them, they belong to Him not us.  We are allowed to care for them while here on earth.  God made each of their personalities and their ability to love unconditionally.  Not only will He take care of them, I'm sure they will be in Heaven with us.  There is too much love and joy shared between us, for it to be discarded.   After all, God is Love.

Before the fall, I think animals were very different.  The Bible tells us that Adam named each one of the animals, what I think happened, is that the animals helped Adam come up with each of their names.   I had a dream once of a little black cocker-spaniel mix, that I had as a young boy.  He was just trotting down a sidewalk.  I was sitting on the porch steps of a house I had never seen before; when he saw me he ran into my arms.  That is the only heaven dream I have ever had, and I had not thought about that dog for a very long time.  My belief is that it was God's way of saying to me that eventually everything will be alright.  It was a difficult time in my life, and I still cherish that dream memory of Inky.  I too think he is in heaven waiting for me to hurry up and get there. 

Jayda, I think for sure, you are going to have a puppy, one that will never die or get hurt or sick; you may not know the puppy now, but it would not be outside of the possibilities of God to have the puppy in Heaven right now, just waiting on you to get there too.

Shomer Caleb, Our pets that pass are in heaven now.  I have had dreams of seeing some of my cats playing in fields in heaven.  As far as talking......One of my cats that I have now is because of this:  Two years ago the mother cat had kittens and I was finding homes for them.  Well, I got down to 3 kittens left, and the night before I was to bring them to their new home, one of them appeared to me in a dream and looked up at me and said, "I love you mommy".  Well, it tugged at my heart and I ended up keeping all 3 kittens.  And these cats are the most loving cats I have ever had.  Thanks for posting, God Bless, Jan

Caleb, even though I've never had any pets, I believe everyone's pets here will talk in heaven!  I think the ability for animals to speak was taken away from them as a result of the fall. (Remember, the serpent talked before Adam and Eve fell.)

Anyway, I would imagine pets saying something like, "Thank you for adoping me, loving me, and taking such good care of me."   Then they'll give you a big sloppy kiss!!

Jayda there will be many pets without their owners up there and needing someone to take care of them. I am hoping for 20 extra doggies myself.

TX Thom:  Thank you for that story, it is to me amazing and heart-breaking.  Anyone who has been around sheep know, that for the most part, they hate water and are not good swimmers!  The Lord's Prayer has the Shephard leading the flock beside "still waters" for them to drink from.  Fast moving waters scare sheep because if they fall in, their wool becomes heavy and they do not swim well.  So it is all the more amazing that this little lamb was swimming toward his human daddy.

I absolutely do not agree with you!  I love the verse you quoted, it is one of the most beautiful in The Bible.  And you are spot-on as my British friends say.  Everything in creation declares His Glory.  Plants, animals, flowers, the stars, even the rocks (there are some very good looking rocks by the way) diamonds - emeralds - rubbies - etc. 

The earth is but a shadow of Heaven, so there is no doubt that animals and our pets will be there.  I tend to think it will be some form of (recreation).  They would need to be remade, for lack of a better word, without their sin nature that they got from man in the garden.  Lions and lambs in Heaven are best budds - right!  For example, God made our pets, He knows the "DNA make-up of each, and the make-up of each personality that He made, so I feel it will be easy for Him to provide us with them in Heaven.  Your post was great, thank you; I have no idea what you are talking about.  , ybiC Caleb

Kidding aside, I do believe the Holy Spirit can enter into an animal and allow it to do something that most critters cannot.  People might attribute it to a loyal dog or a homesick cat, but those canines that walk for miles to find help for their stranded, injured owners in the desert or those cats that miraculously make it back home over a 3,000 mile trek might just have some help from On High in their journeys...

OOHH, TX Thom:  I forgot, those were the horses that were going about the earth to see how conditions were, and then report back to God.  I remember they said that things were well upon the earth - I think.

Beckabecks:  Yep, I think there is a lot more going on with animals than we understand.  As with all nature, there was a huge shift, for the worse, when we fell in the garden.

I just had a conversation with a philosophy professor about this.  Why are they all so very impressed with their own minds and refuse to see anything that deals with God?    Some of them are so blind, it gives me the creeps.

The monarch butterfly travels from it's wintering grounds in Mexico to the northern US and southern Canada, then returns to Mexico in the fall.  NONE of the butterflys that return in the fall, were of the generation that left Mexico in the spring.  Yet they know how to get home.

All beaver in the world build the same dams, they do not talk by cell phone, and yet they all know how to construct an extreemly strong structure.

TX Thom, I think you just might be on to something about the animals being angelic beings, or some of them, would explain how many have entertained them unawares.  There seems to be an animal - angelic connection in some of the Heavenly angels too.

When I look at an African Leopard's eyes, for instance, I can see the wheels turning in their minds, the are SOO VERY smart.  We just are not aware of it now, from the fall.  Some day we will know THEM as they truly are.  Praise God!

TX Thom:  I remember seeing that.  It gives me the chills, that the dog knew how to go wait for help and then lead them in.  The Shepherd had to make two turns to get up on the main road, where he waited for help to arrive, and then lead them into the fire.  There is a lot more going on there than we know.  I think it does have to do with them not being able to speak.

Yeah, real sweet. I wear the dress and have the flowers, but you get the proposals!! Ha! This RITAN family sure is fun!

I killed one of our kitties too once -- my oldest was a young toddler at the time, and my second was a baby.  I was pregnant with #3.  I was at the top of the staircase, holding a square basket full of laundry on one hip.  My other hand was reaching for my toddler's hand to help her down the staircase. 

Praise the Lord I never got a firm hold on her because I didn't even see the kitty on the first step.  I stepped on him and fell down half the staircase.  My toddler freaked out, laundry was everywhere.  I didn't see the kitty but I went back up to console her.  When I finally made it to the bottom of the steps, I saw kitty a few feet away, not moving.  He either fell down the stairs and wandered there, or he ran down the stairs and collapsed.  I knew he was gone. 

I freaked out and screamed for our roommate, who ran out of his room like the house was on fire.  He called my husband to come home, I was inconsolable.  We had just gotten the kitty from the pet store, and had spent the past few weeks getting him well at the vet from an illness only to step on him and he passes anyway.  From ME.

Those were dark days for me.  I cried out to God to forgive me.  I've never killed any animal before.  I don't even like to kill bugs - I put them on a napkin and shake them off outside.  And kitties have such a special place in my heart.

I did go to the OB to check on the baby (because I'd fallen down the stairs) but the baby was just fine.  It tore me up inside to take the kitty BACK to the vet not more than days after we got him back from his illness, explaining what had happened.  He was all white with "fire-tips", meaning the tips of his ears and the tip of his tail were orange.  He was beautiful.  I still cry over him sometimes.

I know God (and the kitty) forgive me, but it's never easy when something happens that's out of your control.  Southpaw, I know the awful pain and suffering you must have felt that day.

Drazen Drago:  Yep, I think they will all be there, T-Rex, Triseratops, all of them.  The earth is a shadow of that which is in Heaven.  My belief is that all of the animals on earth, dinosaurs included, and then some will be in Heaven.  Only without the sin nature, so in Heaven my dogs will not think that kitties are the arch enemy!

Ruth, you have a beautiful story about your special angel, Muttly. I'm so sorry for what you went through as a child. Our God is so good to see you through those times.

What's my cat gonna say to me in Heaven? Simple:

"After filling the food dish, kindly get out of my mansion"! . . . ha ha ha
